Tickets Cambridge Away (05 Aug 23) Tickets and Trains

Ticket office have(so far) only reserved one coach to take fans to Cambridge .
Last season we needed three.
There’s a waiting list, whilst they make decision.
Can’t recall this happening before - I use the coach for all away games .

Yes, it does happen sometimes, they are waiting to see if there is enough demand for another coach.

Oxford train station closed on 5th August for anyone hoping to go to Cambridge on the train (from Oxford).

Also other planned closures on three Sundays. Shouldn't affect us unless for instance Reading away gets moved to a Sunday kick-off.

Has anyone actually received their tickets? Having paid for the postage (default method on the website) on the 19th July, nothing to date has arrived. I have assumed a first class posting wouldn't take over 4 days to travel from Oxford to Stanford in the Vale?

Mine arrived on Saturday.

Well, my match ticket did. My coach ticket was not enclosed. I sent an email and the response was "Coach tickets will be sent on Monday".
So we're paying extra in postage because unlike last season, they can't send both tickets in the same envelope.

I've emailed the ticket office, just in case.

Probably gone to the local tip 😉

Was literally about to ask the same question. Last season without the ripoff postage and booking fees I always got them super quickly in the mail!

If there is under 300 tickets left from an initial 1078 allocation then we've only sold just over 700 which if true is a piddling amount. Do you think we could have some clarity on the amount actually sold and it might be a good idea if the OUFC website incorporates a ticket counter somewhere on its front page of its website to encourage sales?

Texting this after finishing a steady +3 over par somewhere to the South of Jersey.

The last 2 times I ordered tickets to be delivered, they've arrived AFTER the game!! Bloody Royal Mail. I live locally and would happily collect, but didn't get the option. If Royal Mail screw up this time, I will have to visit and buy instead.

Thought we’d asked for 400 more

I phoned the ticket office this morning, not having received the Cambridge ticket I bought last Wednesday. Apparently the ticket office is very busy and short-staffed, but they’re working through the backlog and will be posting out all the tickets purchased by this Wednesday.

Think I will wait until Friday before I call

More reasons to have the collect option available. No excuse really with two pre-season games at home.

Cambridge Utd transfer activities so far this summer:

Incomings:

Sullay Kaikai - winger from MK Dons
Jordan Cousins - midfielder from Wigan Athletic
Danny Andrew - left back from Fleetwood Town
Gassan Ahadme - striker from Ipswich Town
Jack Stevens - ‘keeper from Oxford U

Outgoings:

Lloyd Jones - Charlton Athletic
Sam Smith - Reading
Harvey Knibbs - Reading
George Williams - Mansfield Town
Dimitar Mitov - St Johnstone
Joe Ironside - Doncaster Rov.
Shilow Tracey - Crewe Alex.
Greg Taylor - Woking

I’m sure with a couple more signings plus our 25 goals a season striker they will be snapped up pretty quickly

So, we have 1,078 initial tickets and 5/6 days after they go on sale we have less than 300 left, meaning we've sold 800 in that time and that's bad? I'd say it's pretty good and would expect the rest to go easily, as well as the extra 400 we can have, given that there were still 12 days to go until the game, at the time of the announcement.

Who said it was bad?

Wasn't 'piddling amount' mentioned on the previous page? Its sort of the feeling I've had from reading posts from a handful as well to be fair.
Someone who rang the ticket office on Friday to book their Swansea tickets was told that we had sold our initial allocation of 1000 tickets and had requested the additional 400, so the club’s communication seemed to conflict with this, hence querying whether we had sold 700 or 1100!

I actually thought if we had sold that initial thousand so quickly, that was a great achievement, but even if it was 700 it’s still a great achievement, as Colin says we should sell 1400–1500 tickets by the time we kickoff

Yeah I agree, I certainly wasn't reading your posts as negatively slanted.
