We have the smallest stadium, we have the smallest crowds, and we are once again the bookies vaunted relegation candidates. #teamslikeoxford

However…..

With the new season just a few weeks away, I was absolutely delighted to read that season tickets have again sold out; and that sales of the brand new home shirt smashed all previous records on the release day.

At the end of last season the atmosphere really took a step up in intensity, volume, and consistency. As fans we were able to collectively help drive the team to safety. And it was noticed on other clubs forums and social media too, just how loud we were.

On opening day the yellow division are planning a display. But we can all play our part. As a loyal season ticket holder myself, who only missed 20 home games last season, it would be great to see the home fans:

1. Wearing as much yellow as possible (@Colin B and other sartorial casuals exempted). Let’s build an impactful visual that shows that we as a fanbase mean business.

2. Where possible and appropriate, stand more. It supports the volume, and always creates more vocal intensity when we do

3. Be brave and sing more. And take personal responsibility to drive the singing in your area of the stand. Just one person being brave for a few seconds normally triggers a few more and the dozens if not hundreds to take up a chant. You are the 12th man.

Stick a like if you are going to commit to the above Magna Carta Trilogy for next season and do your part alongside the @Yellow Division Official

it does help when the home shirt is available (way) before the season starts - unlike recent previous years

How is it that, with two teams on embargoes and us finishing last year with 7 teams below us, are we favourites for the drop?
You can’t expect teams like Oxford to beat Sheffield Wednesday just because they don’t have any players.
Because bookies odds have nothing to do with probability but how many bets are likely to be placed
This is pretty well understood but the fundamental point underlying it is that people think Sheffield Wednesday, with no players, are a decent bet over Oxford, who have several players, and they’re so sure of their opinion they’re willing to spend money on it, and that’s still worthy of comment.

Probably just cus they know Wednesday have more fans and so are more likely to het on their team staying up

I was an Old Gold member last season and attended every home game. I took the opportunity to experience the atmosphere from seats all around the ground over the course the season. I hate to point the finger, but every time I was in the South Stand it was quiet and I felt like a lone voice cheering the team on. Maybe I was just unlucky, but it was a consistent theme.

Point 1 about wearing yellow - I never understand why people don't. I get that it gets cold in winter, and maybe you don't have a yellow coat (I do, but whatever), but if your coat is another colour, you could at least wear a yellow hat or scarf. It doesn't even need to be club merch.

Just seems odd not to.
