Current Player Thread Brodie Spencer

Our asset as well. He’s prone to the odd stinker too when he doesn’t hit the ground running but he seems to be growing into himself and with Roosken presumably low on confidence he has to start at Pompey!

No way Roosken starting at Pompey.

Edited, my own poor phrasing Dick! Meant Brodie has to start!

[Foley]

He looks back to his best
Strong, aggressive and a good tackler.
He was really good at the start of the season and was teriffic for NI v Italy
Really hoping that he is with us next season regardless of which Division we are in.

Would like to see him at right back when we can, no slight on Long who is doing a fine job but he probably has a higher ceiling and it’s obviously a more natural position for him.

Yes agree.
His excellent performance for NI was at left back and he is good there, but agree that RB is likely to be his better position

Craigan just saying, would expect the championship will be all over Spencer this summer

Agree. Our best bet is that he's persuaded to give us one season to help us get straight back up. He's still only 22, so it might work. Not sure motivation is Bloomfield's thing, though! If we do manage to keep him, I'd expect him to be the best RB in L1.

CIaron Brown played full 90 and most solid of the back 3
Donley struggled upfront
Mcdonnell had a decent game alongside Shay Charles

Fine performances from Brown and Spencer against France . Let's hope we can keep them.

We should keep them unless someone offers your valuation regardless of division

Am I the only one who gets nervous whenever one of our better players name comes up on recent posts, you know someone will go but you don’t really want them to.

Not long ago there were plenty of "experts" on here saying Ciaron should have been offloaded after one mistake - bizarre way to look at one of our best and most resilient players

[southlondonyellow]

Hopefully this post is a decent signal that Spencer is staying with us

[FarehamOxonian]

Absolutely fantastic for Norn Iron tonight

If Sunderland turned down £10m for Trai Hume from Wolfsburg, and Stoke paid £6m for Devenny .
Gives you a ball park figure what Spencer should be worth

[Isle of Wight Yellow]

He should be our starting left back at the moment, he plays well there and Currie is out of form.
