Current Player Thread Brodie Spencer

Spencer is having a storming 2nd half and is really getting stuck in. Moved to left centre back in a 3 for the last 20 mins and is playing really well there too.

Has once again done well, a couple of misplaced passes early on. Another committed performance with a couple of cracking challenges.
Has been moved over to lch with McNair going off. Still 1 down.
Can see a offer coming in for Ballard, has been the best player on the pitch

Can see a offer coming in for Ballard from a German club, has been immense and the best player on the pitch

Christ, Long at RB it is. Praying Ter Avest is back fit very soon.
Long has been absolutely superb for every minute he’s played this season.

He is not physically or technically as gifted as our other two options but he absolutely embodies OUFC and will do everything he can for the side.

Probably the one person you want to come in, he’s been in form (for Longy) and will do his best.

When Longy's playing, I'd say I'm usually very confident in him unless the opposition left winger is a big, fast, athletic monster.
I felt the two times he really struggled out at RB last season were against Hajji Wright and Lyle Foster......for exactly that reason. He just couldn't compete with them physically.

I don't know much (OK anything) about Millwall's left winger, Thierno Ballo. But at least, according to Wiki, he isn't big!

I'm sure everyone who doesn't claim to be Italian is rooting for them!

On the face of it, a team almost entirely made up of EFL players whose best player is.....what.....Trai Hume?.......shouldn't stand a chance against Italy in Italy.

But then we would have said that last time too when they lost to North Macedonia!

Spencer having an excellent game in Italy.

To get back and cover the central defenders for that 1 on 1, was outstanding.
They needed his pace to cover Mcnairs and McConvilles lack of.
Shame Ballard and Bradley were unavailable.
Thought Donley also put in a very good shift upfront.

How do officials not pick up foul throws these days, last night Mancini looked like he was trying to get his balance on the beam, every throw

That would be MPH throws done for, he is a foot over the line every long throw, it seems to be a wild west on them without VAR. Obviously if we play a game with VAR him doing it would be pointless, any goal would just be chalked off.

Definitely had a chuckle with the Italian long throws. Although my thoughts was does he do ballet as part of his training routine.

It took a couple, but Craigan said his trailing foot was almost touching the back of his head

Growing into such an impressive defender.

With the wind up I'm sure I could catch a whiff of envy oozing off the Hull fans.

Where doesn't he play? RB/RWB, LB/LWB. I'd happily see him used either side of a back three too.

A couple of his tackles yesterday were a pleasure to behold.

Our asset as well. He’s prone to the odd stinker too when he doesn’t hit the ground running but he seems to be growing into himself and with Roosken presumably low on confidence Spencer has to start at Pompey!
