I also think he's behaved appallingly to the club I love.
On that basis I have no further interest in him, beyond any fee we extract from BC for his services.
My attention has transferred completely to Kai Andrews, Brannagan, and McDonnell, the players who as far as I am aware genuinely want to be at the club.

In the European Cup Winners Cup in 1971-72, Chelsea played two legs against a Luxembourg team, Jeunesse Hautcharage. Jeunesse fielded four brothers, two players aged over 40, a 15 year old on the bench, a one- armed striker (Guy Thill) and a midfielder who wore glasses that he taped to his head. You will be surprised to hear Jeunesse lost 8-0 at home in the first leg, and 13-0 at Stamford Bridge.

BdK training away from the first team at times, ‘majority of the squad wanted him out’.

Certainly seems Ramsey consulted senior players and they came to the conclusion to get rid of Mills and BdK.

A shame the club bowed to it in the end. Maybe we need to scout beyond the players and make sure we have a no dickhead policy for the parents also.

Case in point. In life you come across ‘shallow’ people, he is most certainly one. See you later, ‘Bristol’ have just signed someone that cares 0% about their club and is more interested in his own personal gain.

Prediction: 1-2 good performances at a push, make sure he draws those fans in….. followed by an ‘injury’, maybe a bout of sickness. Then onto the next naive club. It’s like being in the office, you just know who those repeat offenders are.

What’s gone on with BDK is a complete and utter fu**in disgrace.

There’s so many different stories and version of events on here it’s like the Only Fools and Horses sketch where the person who stole the microwave was a 6ft tall midget, who was a white caucasian man that was as black as the ace of spades, had blonde curly black hair and was bald, oh and was clean shaven with a moustache.

I’ve no idea what the true story is but the whole thing makes me think the club has yet again been done up like a kipper.

This move to Bristol City looks to have been on the cards for months, going on BDK first words on their site.

“I had the conversation with the manager two months ago and he explained the plan. He really convinced me and I cannot wait to get started,” said De Keersmaecker.

He said, having waited two f*****g months while the club baulked at his release clause.

So two players have behaved like twats and moved to other clubs. I don't know the commercial terms so can't say whether that is a good, bad, or excellent deal for OUFC.
What I do know is that if you could buy those players for what I think they are worth, and sell them for what they think that they are worth, you would make a lot of money.
And that goes for all fans (and teammates) who value commitment, determination, resilience, etc).
There's more to being a professional footballer than being able to play football.

Completely out of his depth at Championship level and really seems to struggle with the English game. The second tier is getting much harder by the season and players of his calibre and type really struggle. He probably had two respectable games for us where other players like Tyler, Cam and even Matt Phillips has more drive, consistency and quality.

A complete waste of money and that was reflected in not being able to sell him even at a reduced cost. Thank god Bristol City will be paying his wages but if it doesn’t work out there, we will struggle to offload him. Maybe someone like Falkirk will come knocking..

No that’s revisionist, he is a talented player. However so are Marcus Mcguane and Herbie Kane and they’re back in div 3. He’ll probably bump along at Bristol and somewhere like West Brom before going back to the Low Countries.

Seeing the ‘like’ (if genuine) that Roosken has put on the Huddersfield goals reel from last night is a bit random. Makes me wonder whether the two of them came up with the “Brian’s looking after my kids” line and fed it to the club/Ramsey.

Pure speculation, and probably nothing in it. But it was a weird excuse at the time and not one you’d think a manager would come out with. Not when there’s a whole load of plausible reasons.

There is quite a list of foreign players last season and we’ve mostly been burned in my opinion. Shudder to think of the cost it’s been to the club for what’s mostly been rubbish.

There were also two mediocre and tactically limited English managers (I'm not sure if it's fair to include Des in this, but that would make 3) with different styles and squad requirements, which made the situation even worse. Couple that with an scattergun and sometimes panicky approach to recruitment, caused in part by the apparent ever shifting sands of our transfer budget over several windows . . and it's pretty much a simple and easy to follow recipe for the disaster that we saw unfolding.

Still 18 (I think) players out and a core of decent players retained is certainly a step in the right direction. I just hope that the board do the right thing by Ramsey and firstly give him a decent run (at least 18 months) and generous backing in the January window, by which time we have been assured that the embargo will have been lifted, and then back it up with support next Summer.

Of course, if the board are not good to their word and the embargo remains in place in January, then nobody would blame Ramsey for walking away.

I think the big problem with bringing in a decent amount of foreign players is that we just don’t have the scouting rework that a lot of the clubs doing the same have, so we were doing it half blind in comparison and the results showed that.

As a club we need to plan further ahead, rebuild now but also learn from what went wrong over the last two years. We won’t be fishing in continental waters for a while but if we do find ourselves in a position to do so then we need to better at it next time.

As a club we need to plan further ahead, rebuild now but also learn from what went wrong over the last two years. We won’t be fishing in continental waters for a while but if we do find ourselves in a position to do so then we need to better at it next time.

I think this is the key. I've felt we've just lurched from one window to another, desperately scrabbling around with a lack of a long term plan. Worth remembering that one of the key reasons we got promoted in the first place was the form of Murphy, who was signed by Robinson as his world was falling apart. Manning tried to move him on before Buckingham got a tune out of him.

It's not like we got promoted after a lot of calculated decisions. Murphy had done almost nothing for 18 months and then lucked out as Buckingham wanted wingers, put his arm round him and got him playing like a Championship player. Rowett then was a complete contrast to Buckingham and then Bloomfield was something else (still not sure what, exactly).

It's hard to build a long term plan when you're going fat pope, thin pope. Add in that we've now had 3 embargoes in the last 2 years (must be a record in the Football League) and a budget rug pull last summer and I am not surprised we have a patchy record with recruitment. I give Waldron more of a pass than most on recruitment matters because I think there are an awful lot of issues outside of his control that he's had to contend with. The one, main thing that I want to see more of from him is a long term plan as that's been badly lacking. However even then I think the elephant in the room is Thohir. I know we need to be grateful for him for keeping the club alive but I think he's chaotic. He's filled the senior roles at the club with yes men who lack authority as big decisions (like manager changes) still go through him. He has seen £10ms added onto the debt pile, he's wasted some of that money on Indonesian players and dragged the squad out to Indonesia to play in a monsoon.

The fear I have been holding onto for a while is that we'll struggle to be a settled and well run club while he is so hands on. He comes across as someone who fancies playing real life Football Manager, until he doesn't.

The big decision is obviously the stadium. We've got to hope that progresses as planned. If it does then my preference is that Thohir moves us on to someone who runs us within our means and as a professional outfit once more. I realise this is an awful lot to wish for though, so I tend to lurch between fear and gallows humour, before then trying not to think about it too much.

I'm a bit meh about Bristol City TBH. They are after all a pretty vanilla club and serial underachievers (biggest city in England to have never had a Premiership club and even longer ago than us in the top flight). I'm just glad Roverz aren't in the same league as us - now there's a proper bunch of twats.
