Current Player Thread Brian De Keersmaecker

Ok. I think you’re being taken for a ride but whoever’s feeding you those lines.

For what’s it’s worth I’d love him to stay and make me look like a fool because he’s a top player, but I know how he’s been behaving and I don’t like people disrespecting our club.
Tbf our board & owner have disrespected our club allowing us to be under an embargo.

If he does want out, can you blame him? Squad is wafer thin & there’s next to no chance of promotion.

There's wanting out by working hard in training, playing matches and getting a club to come in for you before the window ends or in January.

Then there's refusing to train with the 1st team and getting up to match fitness thus making yourself unavailable for match days while picking up full wages.

Radio Oxford felt a late deal is on - could be a loan and could be late after the deadline…

I agree though with the comments, when we needed him last season he went missing, and now again. Best way for him to leave is rip it up and get someone to come in for you… he’s not played for half a year!!

This is what I don't understand. You want a move? Fine. Train. Play. Win us matches. Then you can take your pick. Seems such a waste of his time and ours to try and do it this way.

He’s enjoyed getting his wages though!

Absolute disgrace.

There’s literally videos of BDK training with the first team this summer so it’s not like he’s refused to train all summer.

If I wasn’t an Oxford fan I wouldn’t want to stay around either with the squad the way it is & how thin it is.

Some are prepared to just play and pick up a wage, maybe BDK wants to play at a higher level and test himself. Just like Mills did.

If I was a footballer I'd want to play football and would fulfil my contract as a professional rather than stealing a wage. How about you?

Depends if promises made to him were reneged on.

I wouldn’t really want to play football for a side in league 1 with absolutely no depth to support my ambitions, the only thing that would keep me at the club is because I love Oxford United.

He doesn’t have that, he’s no different than any other player who gets paid & moves on when an opportunity arises.

Poor Brian. Wanted so much to stay and fight for us but was unceremoniously shipped off to Bristol City instead. He must be gutted.

On a positive note, I hear he's miraculously recovered from his multiple injuries so will be training with the team and playing in no time. Praise be.

Seriously though, it's quite right to want to think the best of people but the naivety of some has been quite something to behold where BdK's concerned.

At least we can move on now without this ridiculous distraction.

Only a good outcome for us if they are paying all his wages, and frees up a squad place for incoming player, neither of which we know at this point.

Good player. Incidentally showed that against Bristol City. Completely bossed that game.

Then chucked the towel in mid way through the season, and downed tools.

We need a good dressing room harmony, and get rid of the bad apples.

North of £3m would be a good outcome, but as we know it will be undisclosed if they decide to keep hold of him.

Very good player- our best midfielder since Magilton imo. But his behaviour was pretty disappointing. Strange- his Dutch club blocked a move to Denmark in the January before he signed for us. Not a peep from him, apparently- and just carried on. Can only assume he was told about the calibre of players we were signing and that never materialised. Assuming he will now recover from his mystery injuries, he'll do well there and we'll get a decent fee in January. Oh well- move on etc.
