Current Player Thread Brian De Keersmaecker

Not intending to be cynical, but I read them as 'when is it my turn to go out and perform away from Oxford'.

Both of them have astonishing egos.
I read it as either that or why did they let you leave.

Either way him & mills have to go & I’ve defended BdK this summer but I don’t buy the illness crap.

Take what we can get now because 1 year on their value is going to be less with their contract closer to running out

Absolutely not. We cannot sell both. It would be lunacy while in the predicament we find ourselves in. We would lose any creativity from the middle, as well as by a huge distance our best crosser of the ball, and the only player (maybe Siriki) I would feel confident seeing take on a player.

And if they both hypothetically don’t want be here? Could them throwing their toys out the pram not do more harm than good?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, none of us know exactly what is going on.

So the same bloke who told me about Aaron Ramsey also told me that this was the reason Bloomfield left. That he had fallen out with some of the players. I didn’t buy it myself as Bloomfield seemed like a bloke who unites teams rather than picks favourites but now Swiss Yellow is also saying it, it gives it more credit

We seem to have players that 'fall out with the manager' quite regularly.
Part of the modern game. Once managers become more replaceable than players, then the power dynamic shifts.

I found that happen when I used to work in a corporate job. After the CEO replaced my department director 3 times in 3 years, you could tell there were workers (and even members of management) who stopped bending over backwards for the new director. The culture shifted from trying to impress and earn your boss' respect, to one of waiting for your boss to earn your respect.

It just depends on how influential that one player is amongst the rest of the squad in turning others against the manager. One eventually has to go.

I heard yesterday that Mills has just bought a house in Oxfordshire

Perhaps the chairman is going to live in it.

We need a lot more clear communication from management next week on what the hell is going on.

One Teams call doesn’t really cut it.

It really is dashed bad form that the fledgling manager is the fount of all news for our ‘crisis club’. Poor young chap.

If indeed it is a crisis club - we simply don’t know.

That was my thinking, I must admit
I never cared for him. First one in front of the fans on the rare occasions when we got a good result (Leicester away). Felt his comments about BDK were not good management. And his Oxford team looked terrible. All of those would p**s me off if I was a player.

And as a fan, he wasn’t Des. None of them are.

How could anyone fall out with Bloomfield?
Well he dropped Christ Makosso for being a bit late one day, and never played him again, although Makosso later went to France for two million. That possibly indicates that Bloomfield wasn't the easy-going chap he appeared to be, and that his management style could be destructive to squad morale.

Unless Swiss Yellow's source is the same as yours, in which case it is just as likely/unlikely to be accurate. Who really knows?

Exactly this. Both this and the Stan thread are full of the most bonkers pronouncements about how big their egos are, how disgraceful it is that they have downed tools, and are refusing to play...when actually nobody really knows anything and they're just confidently asserting their feelings, or their interpretations of social media activity, as fact. Drives me mad.

Aside from anything, it's incredibly naive to think that either player owes us anything aside from honouring their contracts. Transfer activity is part of the game, feels like we forget this whenever it's one of our players. It might well be that Stan wants to leave, but that isn't some sort of sleight against the club, it's just a part of the game that we should all be mature enough to deal with.

I don’t think so. Although possible that my source’s source is the same.

It’s like a Len Deighton spy thriller this.
At least it's not Le Carre - the twists and turns before Smiley gets his man would be unbearable

Dropping Helik didn’t go down well at the time, then dropping Makosso for being a minute late and also trying to put the blame on BDK over his injury is never going to help build relationships with fans.

I have constantly pointed out that BDK has never downed tools but had several posters jump down my throat over it.

I’m choosing to belive you Steve as I like BDK and want it to be true

If they want to be here and they are genuinely ill, then fine. Get them both fit & integrate them.

If they are both wanting to move and are taking the p**s then get as much as you can for them & sell them.

They will do more damage hanging around the club when they don’t want to be here.

At the end of the day, if he’s making excuses for them, they are fast running out.
