The forum would encourage all members to consider joining OxVox during this important moment in our history. See here for more information.
I read that Kevin Keegan had to get a part-ime summer job to make ends meet when playing for Scunthorpe.Blimey, you're going back a bit!
I remember watching Tony mainly for the reserves with my Dad(RIP) Amazing that back then players like Peter Hatch, Peter Clinch etc could eek out a living in the Combination. Halcyon days![]()
Dems also spotted in the video (I think)View attachment 36673

Except we can't sign anyone? Can I just make an observation, whilst trying to take the emotion out of all of this.
Let’s say we had survived in the champ again, and we had received a 4m bid for mills and around 5m for BDK….would anyone really have tried to object?!
Selling these two for example for 9m quid or so would surely put us in a strong situation. Screw paying fees, I’m talking about drafting in a quality loan striker and midfielder and possibly a winger. I would certainly bet on us for around top 6 by Xmas if we could do that and keep the band together….Jan could then be quite interesting.
Are you trying to suggest that BDK was actually ill and the people saying he was off to Blackburn were wrong?!
Never in doubt .View attachment 36673

I thought there was an embargo just on transfers but it does seem that there is also an embargo on people's sense of humor too! This (now regular) mocking of those who are clearly anxious about the prospect of losing our best players is definitely my new least favourite genre of post on this forum.
We're all anxious, but there's a difference between mocking that and mocking people who speak as if they know things when they actually know nothing. This (now regular) mocking of those who are clearly anxious about the prospect of losing our best players is definitely my new least favourite genre of post on this forum.

We all hope he's going nowhere, but surely you can't be that naive to think that a single photo of BDK on the training pitch automatically means he's not leaving, and all Blackburn rumours were wrong?!?Are you trying to suggest that BDK was actually ill and the people saying he was off to Blackburn were wrong?!
Were they wrong? They might be now but not sure they were thenAre you trying to suggest that BDK was actually ill and the people saying he was off to Blackburn were wrong?!
Do you know who's desk bids for our players end up on? Is the new chairman making these decisions, is Waldron trusted to bat away offers until we get something that is too good to refuse, or has Tim decided that we should not be looking to cash in on our assets? Can you shed some light on whether the new chairman has been physically and visibly present in the office since joining and has he been giving direction to staff? Were they wrong? They might be now but not sure they were then
I'd love to know the answers to most of that as much as you. I don't think the chairman is much more visible to club employees as he is to us though no and I don't think the CEO makes many decisions when it comes to the football side of things.Do you know who's desk bids for our players end up on? And we wonder why we are in the s**t.I'd love to know the answers to most of that as much as you. I don't think the chairman is much more visible to club employees as he is to us though no and I don't think the CEO makes many decisions when it comes to the football side of things.
We don’t. I think we all know. The writing has been on the wall for years no matter who you looked at. Erick, Bakrie, Tiger, Grant, Tim, Dusan, Benson, Waldron - who’s actually stood out as someone who has a grasp of things in recent years? As a collective they’ve lurched from one disaster to another either individually or as a collective. Promotion is always deserved if you get it, but my god it certainly wasn’t won off the field. And we wonder why we are in the s**t.
It amazes me though that people can over see not just 1 embargo but 2 and still be in a job!We don’t. I think we all know. The writing has been on the wall for years no matter who you looked at. The stadium is not exactly some major innovation. It was the investor opportunity from the beginning and had to happen sooner or later and Thohir took the plunge. With it, a responsibility come what may, but a major upside if he succeeded while running the club sensibly in the mean time. Nobody told him to obliterate the finances and Klarna it at ÂŁ1m a month while we got there.
I’m not wondering why we’re in the s**t, I’m more surprised it took this long.
I was offered 8 legs of Venison for ÂŁ120 but I thought it was too dear. What a waste.
They taste soooo good.
I thought you might buck the trendI was offered 8 legs of Venison for ÂŁ120 but I thought it was too dear.

Totally and utterly agree. Do feel it like a nursery on here sometimes. We want a statement, release one, we now want another oneThis forum at the moment:
YF: the club needs to tell us what’s going on.
Club: we’re going to keep the team together.
YF: we’re going to sell our best players. The club needs to tell us what’s going on
Manager: the SMT have told me we’re keeping the team together.
YF: the club needs to tell us what’s going on.
Training: said players appear at training as planned.
YF: Doesn’t mean they’re staying. The club needs to tell us what’s going on.
I agree that the silence from the ceo and chair is crap, but I also wonder what they’re going to say that is actually useful. Before Dusan’s statement loads of people said that he needed to make a statement and it could just be light touch just to keep us happy. As soon as he did there was criticism that it was lacking info and didn’t tell us anything useful. I honestly don’t think there’s anything of real use that they are going to be able to tell us. Does anyone really expect “Erick’s trying to find a buyer” or “Erick’s not trying to find a buyer” or “if planning doesn’t get past the JR we’re fucked” or “we’re doing everything we can to offload Mills at a decent price”etc?

Asking for a statement doesn't mean you're asking for any statement, and would be happy with the puff that was produced. If anyone on here feels like our chairman's conduct since he arrived is anywhere near an acceptable level then they need to cop on.Totally and utterly agree.
