100% spot on.

People go on as if Brannagan is a leader, he is absolutely not one. Not on the field anyway. Anyone can speak like a leader but when it comes to it they actually are not.

BDK is by far and away the best midfielder at the club, he’s got a little bit of everything you need in a midfielder.

I’ll pick one from last season, you’ll do well to see a goal as skillful as the one where he nutmegged the player against Preston and slammed it in the top corner.

The fans took to BDK as well & many around me could see how good he was and how far clear of our other options he was, he just got ran into the ground trying to do everything as he had no support in there around him.

You can lead by example as well and that is what Cam Bran does.

You can tell that the team is struggling when Cam starts running around getting angry and trying to do too much. When he has a good defensive partner like Konak he’s much calmer and more effective and is still a really good player.

Yeah he's never done well with in-game stress management, but his fiery nature has given us some spectacular memories.
 
None of us has a crystal ball if we did we would be multi millionaires.
BDK had an operation, wouldn’t you jump at the chance to have an op sooner rather than later , after all we don’t know the full facts, this injury could have lied dormant .
Most seem to think he will go and probably right , if only players gave a little goodwill back to a club that , in my opinion, had a better chance of staying in the championship with a player BDK . At least give us half a season until January, the club and fans deserve that .

Me personally? 👀 I don't think I've made any comment about it, other than thinking Bloomfield needs to be given time to build his own team.

I was genuinely just wondering what a happy clapper' is.
 
The amount of rewriting history on this thread is superb, and really encapsulates just how much we as a fan base accept mediocrity.
And I don’t mean BdK was Mediocre!

When he was playing earlier in the season, the only discussion was which Premiership club he was going to. It was an absolute joy to watch him play, streets ahead of anyone.

Yet because we as a club settled for mediocrity (and then undershot that) and he perhaps rightly decided that he actually wanted a career that didn’t involve a trip to Bromley, people are writing history that he wasn’t really that good. To look consistently good in that team last season you would have needed Kevin de Bruyne.

As I’ve said before, BdK and Will Lankshear will forever to me be the reminders of what we could have had if we’d have actually tried.

Although quite a few people at the time also said he wasn't that good. Bonkers.

Cam is absolutely a leader. He drives standards and drags those around him to up their game. He's always encouraging the younger players and giving them advice both on and off the pitch. At the training ground he is the central figure. It's why he was given the captaincy after Elliott Moore left.

As for BdK, if he waited any longer to have his op then there was a huge risk that he would miss pre-season, leaving him playing catch-up at the start of next season

If he does move to Derby as rumoured then I think he’ll be more enthusiastic, but I guess only time will tell whether he’s a good(ish) League One player or Championship level, but what he wasn’t, was a Premiership player which some thought after a couple of games.

Sorry but he shows glimpses and flashes of WOW, but hes not consistant!

Remember lots of Leicester players think they are prem players - they werent good enough for the champ, and will find L1 a shock

So in life where we think we are we arent always there

It's like any job, you'll always have people who think the management have a secret agenda and are generally crap, from my experience sometimes they are and do but more often than not they don't.

I think our senior management come across as aloof and superior sometimes but I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to do the right thing as most of the evidence points towards that. The club is moving in the right direction, bar this hiccup, and they have had the staying power to get us what looks like an awesome stadium.

I think it is very unfair to call people 'happy clappers' because they accept that not everything will always be perfect but choose to look at the positives.

To this supporter he was our best player (consistently) on his return from injury. Sure he is a bit of a lunatic with the armband on but that’s not surprising considering he was chef, cook and bottle washer.

Certainly contributed more than BDK - over the season.

BDK’s off. Operation carried out to protect our investment.

But wasn't it BdK's decision made on specialist medical advice?
 
This is the worst time of the season for me. The football has finished and the transfer window isn't open yet, and so the void just gets filled with speculation upon speculation.

I know that's a big part of what a forum like this is about, but I find it so hard to engage on any meaningful level when we're all just fumbling around in the dark. If your first assumption is wrong, then all of those that follow will be too.

It's impossible to know even where to start when we know nothing about player's contractual situations, what their plans are, who we're looking to bring in, etc.

Just about the most I can muster at the moment is:
  • I hope we manage to move on those players who aren't in the manager's plans.
  • I hope we manage to keep all of last season's key players - Currie, Spencer, Mills, Brown, Helik, Cumming, Brannagan.
  • If we do have interest in anyone, I hope we drive a hard bargain and don't sell unless the deal is right for us.
  • Every player has their price.

I think if I had to play in this seasons failing team that consistently failed to live up to my high performance standards and frequently looked tactically moribund, then I might come across as a tad frustrated, given how passionate I am about the clubs on the field success.

Either of our 2 pre-Konak Championship midfielders had every right to appear frustrated.
