But what does his name mean? Oxblogger posted this:

but another site claims:

The surname “De Keersmaecker” is of Dutch origin, specifically tied to the Flanders region where Dutch is predominantly spoken. The name can be broken down into two components: “de,” a definite article meaning “the,” and “Keersmaecker,” which is derived from the Middle Dutch word “kersmaecker,” meaning “cherry picker"

Never, ever tell someone from Flanders that they speak Dutch! It's Flemish. No ifs, no buts, Flemish.

So what do we know about this guy, other than the possible meanings of his surname? What can we expect?
From the YouTube clips, I would say that he’s a cross between Lundstram and Ledson. He loves a diagonal pass from deep, and is FULLY committed in the challenge. He also takes penalties. He has a long name, but not a long throw.

Don’t know a great deal about him other than it looks like his main position is DM. Do we think this signals the end for a potential signing of Matos? Presumably he’ll be looking to dethrone Vaulks?

So basically, he's Cameron Brannagan?

(not saying that this is a bad thing.....perfectly happy to have two of them!)

Suspect when we're playing the top sides, particularly away from home, and everyone's fit that we might go with a midfield three of Vaulks, BDK and Cam.....with the latter pushing up more into the 10.

If BDK is as solid and as capable as we're (and the people writing the checks at OUFC!) led to believe, then those three should make a very compact and capable unit.

We're still in need of more attacking options before the season starts.....but I think everyone knows that!

Keers in Flemish translates to draaien in Dutch. Draaien is turning, as in a wheel.
Maeker is maker. So @Jeho was correct, the name means a wheel maker.
Welcome Brian, enjoy your time at Oxford.

Welcome Brian, hope you have a long and successful time with the yellows

His contract in Holland ran until summer 2027, and he was team captain.
Quite sure he has cost a lot.
