Genuine questions for YellowTaxi!

Yellows forum is a forum that was setup for the views of Oxford United fans on the many aspects of the Club including Matches, management, players etc.

Over the years the forum has evolved and expanded to cover many other aspects covering general football and non- football related topics.

Nearly all of the main contributors to the forum get involved in all the various Oxford United, football in general and non-football related topics.

These contributors cover both ends of the spectrum of the topic in discussion and can be quite passionate about their beliefs, but as I say they cover both Football (especially Oxford United) and non-football related topics.

Except one! (YellowTaxi)

Only noticing your many contributions on non-football related topics, I thought I may have been mistaken and that you must also contribute on Oxford United topics. So, I did a quick check on your recent messages.

I had to back approx. 180 of your messages to July 13th to see any message re Oxford United! Admittedly, since then there were 2 football related messages re Mark Sykes wish to switch camps between the 2 Irish international teams but all the rest are non-football related messages.

So, are you really an Oxford United Supporter who has a far left political stance (Iโ€™ve no problem in that by the way) or are you a far left political activist who is using a Fans forum to solely promote your political views (which I do object to)?

I might add that I would have the same objections if a far Right activist was using this fans forum to solely promote their political views.

Do you actually watch any Oxford United matches, live or on IFollow?

If you do, Iโ€™m just amazed you have nothing to say on them?

You say "cheating" but are the vague offshore schemes you are alluding to actually illegal? I'd say in most cases, unless you are a tax specialist you are unable to say for sure. I'd also guess that most overseas tax activities are lawfully run. So it's not cheating.

Hope that helps.
Most successful tax saving schemes that were not the intention of law makers are usually closed by law or tested in the courts. Because our laws are interpreted by case law any potential scheme is a test of the law. That's just the way our system and dare I say culture works.

Wow!

IN both Nazi Germany and Stalinist USSR dissent meant imprisonment and probably instant death.
To try and compare resisting a murderous regime with failing to dodge your taxes shows quite how morally bankrupt you are.
Making a moral equivalence between the two shows some pretty distorted values.
It's quite easy to pay your taxes, and no-one is likely to murder you.

I'm sure not all Brexit supporters are as greedy and self -serving as you appear to be, but thanks for showing us the kind of energy behind it.

Still explains why you have a picture of Maxwell as your avatar.
Is he going to fall off a boat or pinch all forum members pensions

Get away with you! They're are many on here I disagree with politically but I don't question their OUFC credentials, I try and persuade them otherwise.

Sorry? That seems over the top and inappropriate. Iโ€™m not as cynical and selfish as most Tories and I wouldnโ€™t mind paying a bit more tax, but Iโ€™m not making any grander claims.
Inappropriate how? I've not accused you of anything, called you any names or made any direct reference to you? I'm attacking the argument not the man.

No, our common law system does not prevent us from making explicit statutory provision for untoward tax arrangements.

Whether or not there is the political will to make those statutory provisions is, of course, an entirely different matter...

To @South Devon Yellow (and anyone else) There's a thread called Brexit.31/1/20

I'm an Oxford United fan on the Brexit thread.

If you don't like people discussing Brexit on the Brexit thread I don't really know what to say to you except you've obviously got a lot of time on your hands.

(I'm not "far left" by the way. the positions I adopt would be middle of the road in say the German Christian Democrats or even Ted Heath's Conservative party.)

There's a lot of righteousness from some people, as though they wouldn't dare touch these types of scheme if they were rich enough to take advantage. This allows them to demonise the people who do happen to be rich to make the "these are the people you are agreeing with" narrative.

The truth is we'd all be at it if we had the resources and the advisers.
We'd all be slave owners if we could in your world.

You could have him followed then, if he(I assume) continues to contribute opinions, threaten his family.

We'd all be slave owners if we could in your world.
If you lived as a white landowner in the American south (and was rich) during the 1500s - 1700s I have no doubt that you would be incredibly likely to use or own slaves.

I think it's naive to suggest you would be the magical and incredibly rare outlier.

That's the point I'm making. It's very rich to suggest that you would be the virtuous statistical outlier in any given historical context when the evidence suggests that such people are very rare and very special indeed.

Frankly, very few of us are that "special". When you're a multi millionaire and you don't use tax efficiency schemes or creative accounting, only then can you tell me how virtuous you are and I'll believe you.

We might not all have been heroes

But bashamwonderland seems keen to let us know whoโ€™d be the first to let the Gestapo know where the Jews were hiding

Great to see the "patriotism" of bashamwonderland backs the likes of Philip Green and ineos owner Jim Ratcliffe. Who cares how much money they get out of the country, how many jobs they destroy, as long as its legal.
Have you ever purchased anything via amazon.

I try to avoid it. But I pay my taxes. And I donโ€™t consider it to be exceptional.

And still slavery was abolished. ๐Ÿค”

Yes after a war in which almost no southern slave owners wanted to abolish slavery. Hence why I am asking you to consider the position of the white, land-owning southern upper classes.

But perhaps we are getting too far off topic. If you want to think you're the exception to the rule then continue to do so. We're all good guys in theory.
