Boris watch ....

looks like Trumps hand is going to (continue to) operate his glove puppet after the tory party elects the UKs PM ....

Alan Duncan came out with the "bus" analogy .........
Darroch was due to retire in December so Boris didn`t want to commit just in case anything really nasty surfaces from the "leak".

Just politic`s rolling on and knocking the pins down.

His retiring in December is irrelevant. The PM (or future PM) should back his Ambassador/s so that they are able to give impartial, honest, blunt and difficult information/opinions at all times so that the Prime Minister/Govt can make decisions based on clear information. By Johnson not supporting him publically over what are internal and classified communications, he has potentially damaged the quality of information a PM/Govt will get. As why would an Ambassador, hypothetically give a controversial/blunt but accurate opinion/report on a situation when he now knows Johnson will publically hang him out to dry should it get leaked?

Richard Tice, the Brexit Party Chairman, for example stupidly suggested on Newsnight last night suggested that all Ambassador communications, even they are internal and classified, should be written in mind that they could be leaked. By Johnson not supporting the Ambassador publically, that is exactly what might happen so the PM/Govt does not get good information through bland/safe reports to make decisions on policy and responses in international situations.

Supposedly, there is more coming on this story in the Mail on Sunday...

Whoever leaked the ambassadors's reports should be tried for treason. They have potentially damaged the country's ability to get reliable and honest reports from our diplomats abroad, which could have wide-ranging (and damaging) effects and have (I suspect) brought the work of our diplomats into the realm of grubby party politics.

Channel 5 tonight, 9.15 pm Naughty! the life and loves of Boris Johnson

as its on terrestrial TV its a chance to actually ..... Boris watch :sneaky:

It was a lie. He must have known it was a lie. And he must have known that it was a lie that would have been picked up within a few minutes of him saying it.
But he is one of this new breed of politicians who simply don't care about the truth (he never did as a journalist either). Both comically inept and deeply worrying at the same time.
Cue the Johnson/Trump defenders coming on here with: 'Well anyway it's the kind of thing the EU WOULD do given a chance, innit' and 'Look! A squirrel!"

Yeah, but what about Jeremy Corbyn, huh?

Yeah, but what about Jeremy Corbyn, huh?
Yeah, what about Jeremy Corbyn? He's managed to make an incompetent Maybot look competent in comparison.

So yeah, what about Jeremy Corbyn? Does he make IDS or William Hague look competent?

What about Jeremy Corbyn eh? ;)

Oh, Jeremy Corbyn.
