National News Boris Johnson - Ousted Former PM

Someone I know reckons he met them at the Lamb and Flag when they were students and DC was alright but BJ was a dick. He is however a bit of an unreliable witness, so I wouldn’t really treat it as corroboration!

Couldn't resist posting this from unknown Twitter account. Sorry @Essexyellows 😉

Yes, the vacuous echo chamber of Twatter where folk surround themselves with people who think the same and see who can shout loudest at those who oppose them.

"Remainers United"...... says it all. Why not set up "Losers of Bitterness" ?

You crack on.......... its Boris or Captain Hindsight for the foreseeable. :ROFLMAO:

IMO the blonde fuhrers pronouncement earlier in Ho C was, more or less, pure flubbery

Sorry, are we back to “what’s all the fuss about”

Yep.
When the excess death`s are calculated, when this is "over" (or near as can be) we will revisit.
2.88% of cases end in death.
So 97.12% don`t.

If HMG had done nothing then we would probably be well past 300k dead by now..... the planning data sets are out there.

That ignores the effects of Long Covid etc.

It’s a small % but a Hugh figure never the less. Having done nothing was of course their first reaction “take it on the chin”

Actually the "disaster planning" was up and running while those in charge sorted out the "managed crash landing".
We had potato cold stores emptied out for temporary mortuaries and all kinds of bleak stuff was in hand.
Of course there were mistakes made, the transfer of untested patients from hospitals to care homes being the most noticeable however that was in the early days where hospital testing capacity and what we were testing for wasn`t there... it got fixed.
Same as having millions of folk sat at home getting paid.... it got fixed.
We came close but never ran out of PPE.... it got fixed.
Testing capacity.... got fixed.
Vaccine development ..... fixed.
Vaccination programme... fixed.

Yep the circus and it`s ringleader fixed a lot of stuff. (y)

I applaud the role out of the vaccine, long may it continue but the development of the world beating Oxford vaccine was conceived in 2016/17 As a plug in & play vaccine that could be easy adapted to treat x .
By March they had a working vaccine but not enough funding for the large scale trials that were needed.
The uk were in lockdown before HMG stepped in with funding, so please don’t give HMG credit for the development of this vaccine. The production & the role out but not the development.

IMO after a calamitous handling of the pandemic from around a year ago, they couldn't have done much worse could they?

I agree 100% there have been some admirable improvements over 12 months

however like my old school report conclusion's read- Can Do Much Better

Vaccination programme is - IMO currently, very much work in progress until all adults have been offered their first vaccine, and everyone who has taken up that option has been given their 2nd part of the 2 part vaccination.

test and trace - was/is pretty rubbish , as the test and trace 'app' ( is that the right term?) is only compatible with a small proportion of hand held devices, therefore precluding a huge majority of the UK population from the test and trace programme. Which wasn't and isn't, IMO fit for purpose

testing- availability and accessibility of testing has vastly improved, however IMO, what hasn't is checking that those who have tested positive via a test are self isolating for the required period. Many who have tested positive have, for a plethora of reasons (many being financial) ignored the requirement to self isolate for the set period

I don't think Im unique in not being taken in bu the flubbery from our blonde fuhrer

So 230 of a crowd of 8,000 at the Kassam. Puts Ibrox, Bradford, Heysel and Hillsborough in perspective.
