National News Boris Johnson - Ousted Former PM

Hmmm .... I wouldn't look for too many congratulations for picking the winner in any two horse race, particularly one where the odds on the favourite were known well in advance of the race.

I'd have respect if you'd predicted a leave vote (and bet on it) during the referendum campaign. ;)

My point with the apathy reference was that the non-voting figure was just another statistic, without any particular reference to anything.

It may surprise you to know that, very early on, I backed an "outsider" in Rory Stewart & posted such on here.
Didn`t work out that he ended up on the ballot paper as he was nobbled by the parliamentary groups but it is really not the time for him as yet.

As they say there are lies, damned lies & statistics.................. my day job is "weighting results to ensure headlines look right".
I treat almost all statistics with some degree of contempt. (y)

As an aside, a friend of mine has recently moved and taken on a "restoration" job of a house in Belchford, we`ll have to catch up for a pint and put the world (wold) to rights. (y)?

Rory Stewart made the most amount of sense in the earlier stages of the Tory leadership 'race' .... his biggest problem was (apart from looking a bit like a thunderbirds puppet) was he was far too centre-ground leaning, therefore not anywhere near right wing leaning enough for either the tory MPs or the tory party membership in the current climate

Not much of a fan of Boris, but anything that offends the sniveling handwringing snowflake arseholes is good for me!

It makes me laugh as I've been whatabouted a few times recently by the same people who complain wildly about it being used. I suspect they didn't even realise they were doing the same thing they complain about. Funny
Yes they must be very stupid, and it is highly unlikely that they are just trolling you.

"Not much of a fan of Harold Shipman, but anything that offends the sniveling handwringing snowflake arseholes is good for me!'

or specially for Ox4eva because we know how tolerant he is on Northern Irish issues

WTF are you on about, are you an IRA supporter then?

No decent person is...

Nope, still don't know who you mean. Any specific examples?

Yes the whimpering arseholes who leave their large houses to wander about with bollox to Brexit badges on, vile champagne socialist hypocrites

Never fully understood why champagne socialists have such a bad rep.

If one is indeed successful in life and enjoys the odd glass of Bolli, isn't it preferable that they give half a toss about the rest of society to the extent that they would happily contribute more in tax to benefit it, rather than seek further tax cuts ?

Thanks. I think I get it now. So people who live in large houses tend to wander about, don't support Brexit, and are champagne socialists and vile hypocrites. If you'd said that in the first place you could have avoided confusing me.
What about the white middle-class students then? Are they part of the same group or a different one? I think we ought to know. And do the first group 'loathe themselves'? Sounds like they quite like themselves? I presume they are 'fuds'?

Well now that my character has been so eloquently defined (apart from the large dwelling, but I do have aspirations) I can now see the error of my ways. You Pete, as a self proclaimed limp liberal minded thinking person, are a bad influence on this forum!

Oh no, they are also deeply offended that the awful Tory scum reply back and point out the collective failing of the left too!

Ah yes, I do remember your support for Rory now. He would have been my choice too - a moderate, sensible man. ;)

Ask your friend if his restoration job is on a property directly opposite the village pub (The Bluebell). If it is, I know exactly the place you mean.

More than happy to have a pint if circumstances allow. (y)

Thats the place, The Old Smithy. (y)

Small world with 6 degrees of seperation they say...

What did Boris spend his first £350 million on?
