We just can't budget properly in this country - the 2012 Olympics cost 9bn against an original budget of 2.5 billion. There should be criminal offenses linked to gross misuse of public funds.

Made even harder now that inflation is running at 9% .

I have always been very sceptical about budgets and business plans. Always swayed in favour of those either seeking funds or looking to drive through agreement to a long term project.

Complete fantasy. Complete waste of time. Have never liked preparing them.

Really being done to appease his back benchers, but sold as helping to reduce the cost of a shopping basket - when in fact the reverse is true ( people apparently spend 22% more with these offers in place)
