General Blackpool Beef

Of course they are blaming Appleton for their demise. 11 games and it all his fault!

Good another great weekend, in Blackpool next season .Along with Fleetwood. Cheap & chearfull , better than nearl 6 quid a pint.. Bring on the Soul Suite, the Manchester Arms, the Black Pug, and all the boozers down back streets, oh & not forgetting Ma Kelly's in the Town centre . Proper boozers better than any in Oxford..

The Ardwick at £1.75 a pint, prefer Ma Kelly’s central, although the best one is probably north of the town centre up near the casino that side.

It’s a shithole but an enjoyable shithole, much, much better than say Rotherham or Rochdale.

Took my (posher than me) missus up there about 4 years ago when I think Garbutt got the winner, she comes from a bit of money and she couldn’t believe their was a woman
in a full evening gown singing karaoke at 11am while a mongrel slept at her feet. To be fair she had taken me to Rome a few months earlier for my 40th so had to treat her back.

I know my brother lives there, he bought a identical house as my parents in HEADINGTON for £ 90,000 compared to 500,000 pounds. Doing the same job in Blackpool, as in Oxford for the same wages.
YEAH IT'S GRIM UP NORTH..
Definitely a North /South divide ,not in the way people make out .
My boy just bought a house in Hull , similar for 150,500.. Two good yellows that were season ticket holders. Only go to the odd home game, & away matches local to where they live . Such a shame lots of others have done the same that I know..

My brother takes me to loads of pubs £1.70 a pint. Everything a £1.00 bakery, cafes for a full English breakfast, two of everything & a cup of tea/ coffee £5.00 .
It's like back to the future to the 80s in Oxford 😂

Perhaps our progressive local politicians could support house building to help allow folk to stay living closer to their families in Oxfordshire.

They should of built them 20 odd years ago. Alas Oxford/ Oxfordshire always behind, too many NIMBY CRUSADERS..

But covering the green belt with half million pound executive homes won’t help young people or the housing crisis. Houses are available but are too expensive and developers don’t build with the aim of lowering house prices. Councils need to be enabled to build low rise social housing blocks on brownfield sites, near public transport: there are some nice new ones in Rose Hill but we need more.

I suspect you have a personal interest in this- I’m not looking for aggro, just interested.

My personal interest is that younger generations can’t afford to buy houses because demand is too high. Cripplingly high rents mean that they can’t effectively save either.

It’s a broken system and it impacts young and future generations.

It should be a personal interest to all of us.

Problem is our youngsters,go on the council list & end up being shipped out to , places like Cardiff, Birmingham, Coventry, etc ,etc. DISGRACE FACT!!!!

That's not how the housing lists work, maybe do some fact checking before writing in big capital letters.

Housing lists are run per district, if you apply in Oxford City that's where you can bid, if you apply in Vale that's where you can bid, but you can do that concurrently. No one gets "shipped out" unless its by choice/necessity of the individual.

Anyway, let's all laugh at Blackpool.

I've been there seen it done it with the council housing.. yep let's laugh at Blackpool
