A lovely guy, who shared my passion of birdwatching, and was very funny. I wish more people had followed his lead - society would be a better and more appreciative place.

Remember seeing him attempting to talk about the migration of the Bristle-thighed Curlew on the panel of “Just a Tick” (the birding version of “Just a Minute”) at the British Bird Fair. Who else would be crazy or lnowledgeable enough to even attempt this stuff?

By the way, he managed it.

A legend in my eyes.

I loved him in the Goodies as a kid and he seemed a really good guy, a birdwatcher and environmentalist. He was at the next table to us in Portugal a few years ago, presumably there for the marsh birds.

Really nice guy and passionate about birds.
Met him at a trade show and was so passionate about the bird seed and explaining all the mixes etc.....
