General Best place to live in Oxfordshire?

Just resurrecting this thread to update. We have now completed on a house in Stanford in the Vale. Moving date set for the 15th September. Had a survey done by "New build Surveyors" and a long list of issues identified. Mainly due to poor decorating but also some stuff not addressed following the exit of the developers post show home use. Nothing structural and nothing insurmountable but some things will be inconvenient. (the garage needs the floor and breeze block work sorting and jet washing. - several holes in the floor with poor sealing and too large a gap under the door)
We were also let down by the "hand over" as the chap obviously hadn't got a clue about half the equipment in the house - Surveyor has this in his report and expects the developer to return to do the whole thing properly.
Very happy with the property otherwise and now busy putting up lights, sorting furniture etc etc. BT booked to connect the phone and broadband with Sky coming next day to connect all and test.
Some neighbour has allowed their dog to take a crap on the front garden but we think we know the culprit, spotted the dog walkers out yesterday with 5 dogs in tow!

We had a look at this estate, nice houses but wrong location. They had built them all cheek by jowl and the gardens were all overlooked. The show home at the front was the only one with a reasonable view (from the front, the back was awful) The bungalows didn't appeal.
We actually bought on a different estate. Lot's of space, big garden areas and the view from the front of our house is onto open scrub land/wooded area. And it's not a bungalow!
