General Best Away Day Catering

Season Ticket
Yes
Year of First Game
1998
Seeing as we have a thread talking about the poor state of our stadiums catering offering, I figured it would be interesting to have a thread about some of the best across the leagues over the years.

Nomination belows with a vote to follow. Include the club and any particular item that impressed.

Two I've experienced are Oxford city and Hunger ford.
Agree with Oxford City. Always a pleasure to attend a game there. The pre-season fixture was always an excuse to indulge in some interesting food. Another venue we used to enjoy was Lincoln. Their food street featured a variety of reasonable food.

Kidderminster used to do a lovely pie mash and gravy if my memory serves me right.

Really felt like a lot of effort had gone into catering over there.

Sorry, nothing to add here. Genuinely can't remember the last time I purchased any food at a football match, home or away.

It's typically shite, and will continue to be that way whilst thousands of grown men, up and down the country, seemingly can't go two hours without eating.

All part of the day..

A bit like enjoying a beer…. Unless you don’t enjoy a drink on match day too ?

Although I do always laugh at the huge queues on Boxing Day for food and drink when I am genuinely still feeling stuffed 🙂

Sadly Kiddy is no more unless it has changed back. The Chairman at the time wanted his own company providing the food so they took over. Last I heard now just bog standard stuff but that was a few years ago.

I went there in the promotion year and my uncle who I went with kept telling me it was the best food you’d get in a stadium over here. And the person in front of us in the queue got the last pie before they sold out, absolutely devastating

Thought Hull the other week was as good as ive had in a long time, couldnt fault it.

Sorry to the veggies and vegans but I do remember some particularly meaty baps sometime ago when we were several positions lower in the pyramid.

You were eating something from the catering! Think it was (possibly) a sausage roll?
Yes sausage roll. I’m sure they’ve got all the ketchup and mustard sachets from the rejects pile where the machine hasn’t cut a “tear here” into the sachet.

Pie, mash, mushy peas and gravy at Morecambe many seasons ago.

Also had a cracking hot dog and a pint at Carlisle once upon a time 👀
