I'm not so sure that Beadle will play for the full England team, certainly not as a regular. Yes, he is good with the ball at his feet, but his shot stopping and his commanding of the box are nothing special.

He is still very young, and playing at a top Championship side or lower PL side may take his game to the next level. But all of the stats currently have him as no more than a run of the mill Championship keeper, and I think that Cumming has been a real step up.

Ben Nelson is also a little raw, but looks like a proper Championship centre back already. Strong and disciplined with his positioning, and better on the ball than most. If Leicester go back to being that yoyo club, I wouldn't be surprised to see him having a full season with them in the Championship next season before starting in the PL the following season. But I'm not sure that he is quiet at the level yet where another PL team will look to pick him up.

Erm, we will be in the same division, if they aren't good enough for you...
no disrespect intended. We will have a lot of work to do and will be desperate to get back up. Depending on who we end up with in charge, it may be another case of us signing established pros that will block the route for some of the youngsters.

There’s already a crop that are too good for league 1, so we will need to make space for them or find a good club that we hope won’t be a rival at the top end.

However, If we start the season with the likes of Ayew and Decordova-Reid I’d advise you all to bet on yourselves finishing above us

Credit where credits due, a very good decision to leave the door open for Nelson to return after his injury.

With Moore and Brown out we’d be up the proverbial creek without him.

I actually think he looks better now than he did earlier in the season, was superb against Leeds.

I’d be amazed if he doesn’t play in the Premier League.

Said recently that I thought he’s been really good but not absolutely amazing, but today he was colossal. Possibly the best Oxford United centre half showing I’ve seen for a good few years. If he turns in that calibre of performance on a regular basis moving forward, he’s going to be worth a lot of money.

Easy to see why we didn’t send him back in January despite his injury. That goal alone was worth every penny he’s cost us this season. Good luck, young man, and thank you.

For me he was consistently excellent. Defo a future prem player

Perhaps this is a bit pie in the sky, but what's the chances of us signing him permanently? Anyone know if he is likely to start for Leicester next season? He's an absolute Rolls-Royce of a defender.
Realistically.... Zero however never say never, I wouldn't be surprised if a he is already on the radar of many premier League clubs and potentially Leicester will do well to keep hold of him.

You are probably right, I'm just dreaming... honestly wouldn't be suprised to see him feature for England one day if he fulfills his potential

We can all dream, I'd love nothing more than to see an Instagram post saying we've signed him permanently, one of the best young English defenders around. Absolutely agree he could go all the way! 🙏🏼

I actually think we would harm his development signing him. Right now he is better than us. He will play in the premier league, and probably for England, in the future.

He’s already a level above us.

He reminds me of VVD how calm he is on the ball, and how much time he seems to have. He also wins every tackle he makes and seems to always be in the right place.

Makes the game look easy.

Good luck, Ben.

Leicester currently have four other centre-backs with between a year and fours years left on their contracts (source Transfremarket.com). They've also got Harry Souttar returning on loan from Sheff Utd, so Nelson going back will leave them with six.

If Leicester need to cut their cloth for life outside the Premiership, there is a chance he might be available or we can check out Harry Darling next Saturday.....

Based on what Ive seen of Leicester this year, I would take Nelson over any of them.

Once Festa get nailed for FFP and have to cut their cloth staying here might be a better option for the lad.

If Leicester were dumb enough to sell him, Nelson is a £10m player right now, easy. Not remotely near our price range.

The only possible chance we could see him in yellow next year is if someone like Chelsea comes in for him, decides to loan him out for the season to continue his development and thinks that continuity is a positive thing.

But I think it's much more likely that we'll see him at the Kasstad next year playing in blue.

Heard Chelsea had bid £20M

Leicester are going to be looking to return straight back to the PL, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Nelson still a little way down the pecking order for a first team place, unless they have a big clear out.

If he's not regularly making their bench then another loan to a club where he is happy and settled may not be a bad move for all involved.

However, if it was to happen it likely wouldn't happen until towards the end of the window to protect Leicester in case of injuries so it will be wise to look elsewhere too.

I thought the EFL were desperate to penalise Leicester after they wriggled out of a PSR breach following promotion?

Not sure what the sanction will be, if they do choose to, but as Nelson is an academy product he will be pure profit on the PSR spreadsheet.

Equally think they will keep RVN until the new accounting period then remove him.

Ben Nelson has so much potential in the game. He's far superior to what we have seen in recent years with the likes of Dickie, Atkinson, NcNally and even Europa League legend Stuart Findlay. It would be criminal for Leicester to waste him on the bench. He's proven himself at this level even after a huge injury, so he should be first team contention with them next year. If he isn't in their immediate plans due to them having a selection of central defenders already, then we could get a full year out of him again especially if they aren't willing to loan out to league rivals in the Championship.

If Chelsea do sign him for a substantial fee then he will likely join rivals in this division on loan and Leicester will have no say. Either way, it has been a privilege watching a footballer of his calibre at this club and he should have a huge career ahead of him. 10 years ago we had Michael Raynes at the back featuring in a miserable 0-0 draw with York so it just shows how far we've come.
