Ex-Staff BBC Article on Ramon Diaz at Oxford

Cambridge (a) on that grotty side terrace. Out of the gloom comes the rather good tune 'We love Horatio, he gives fel*at*o.' A golden moment in our history. Doesn't really work with 'Des' although 'Bucks' has potential for any wordsmiths out there.

I have a recollection of seeing Diaz and Co come to the priory after the game they were refused entry too?

Considering some of our defending at corners (the Millwall goal for instance), we should try it this season now and again.

Isn’t that the only goal we have conceded from a set piece and we have one of the best defensive records from set pieces? Was certainly true up to and including the Watford game.

Well Ramon Diaz called Kassam right in not wanting to grow the club. This was summed up by going from Diaz to the useless lump Brian Talbot as manager.
On some sunny day, actually I don't really care what the weather will be doing, we will be free of Kassam ! That sounds good. Free of Kassam !

i remember this period as i would have been about 13 and at secondary . When we announced Diaz we were pretty certain it would be Chris Turner and i still remember when i found out it was Diaz, as a press conference was called and i was waiting on the school computers to see. At the time a random site had Diaz as the 3rd best manager in the world IIRC!

When it came to the first game the introduction of Craig Davies was a big thing, he was the first manager to put faith in him and i remember his goal in that first game vs Cambidge?

IT was a random set up though i remember going to an away game on the LRC and the team bus left at a similar time DIaz didnt get on the team bus he went said a few words then walked back to the Holiday Inn. He didnt manage the team after that day, all very bizarre.

What happened on the last day of the season was very strange and to have all of them outside the ground with us looking over the side of the stand to see what was happening was surreal. JMG was also very active on the old forums and said he hoped to come back in some capacity but it never happened, which i feel is a shame they seemed to genuinely care and want us to progress as a club.
