This is madness Barcelona sign an "emergency player" and Laganes are not able to sign a replacement!

If it was a goalkeeper, possible exceptions can be made, but a striker!

apparently theres something of a loophole in Spanish Uefa fa rules , so albeit only on a technicality, Barca it appears are within the rules/laws applied to domestic Spanish matches?

Its not a loophole, its a Spanish FA rule. If a club has a player ruled out through injury for more than 5 months outside of a transfer window, then they can sign any unregistered player, or a player registered with another Spanish club. They can only play in domestic games. In theory all the other clubs could refuse to sell to them - apart from the fact that all players registered to Spanish clubs have to have a minimum release fee clause in their contracts (Messi's is apparently €700million) - so the affected club just pay that and the other team have no option. There is no provision in the rule to say the selling club can sign anyone. Its a deeply stupid rule, no doubt put in place to keep RM or B happy when they were affected in the past.

Ethically and morally wrong though IMO

Allegedly, Messi has a clause that allows him to leave on a free transfer at the end of any season.
