Had the misfortune to have to go into oxford city centre earlier ( headington branch of my bank being refurbished currently)... Cornmarket and market street are almost impassable due to ongoing building works and associated plant.
A narrow walkway outside the clarendon centre is the only way to get from one end of cornmarket to the other. Two seperate rows of people heading towards carfax with one single(ish) row of people going the opposite way, with a queue much worse than 5 mins before kick off outside the eaststand on big attandance matchdays, compounded by idiotic groups of vistors following a flag carrying guide stopping halfway down the narrow pedestrian walkway! Absolutetly ridiciculous, causing huge logjams of people, one poor old chap stumbled over in the melee (managed to help him back up ) . . I dont like going into town at the best of times, 'festive' season is even worse but taking 15 mins plus to travel 100 yards or so- each way- is unreal! Bah bloody humbug i say

I thought it was ongoing building work, but no, it seems Oxford City Council have entered the UK's crappest christmas tree contest ....

thankfully he wont be able to pull the same s**t Dec 17

He definitely won’t, we’re not playing them until the 18th ?

Specialist crane putting some pile driving kit into St Johns. Only there for 2 or 3 days. The joys of living in a historic, if slightly cramped, city.
