Championship Away Ticket Membership Schemes

Derby
buy an away ticket membership first.
then priority to fans who went to 15, 10 and then 5 away league games last season.
That's a simple straight forward system to implement .Behaving and operating like a top 30 club 👏.

A bit unfortunate if you went to away games and paid on the day.
I doubt Derby had any pay on the day away games last year to be honest - think they pretty much sold out every away end in advance.
They've had their away members scheme for years and generally seems to be well thought of except last season when they were facing smaller allocations and therefore a lot of people consistently missed out.

But yes, for us it would be difficult to suddenly implement something similar with the number of games that were permitted for pay on the day sales.

We could not introduce this for this season due to pay on the day.

However we could say we are introducing this from next year and that means people can buy tickets in advance this season.

Blackburn
loyalty based priority for away games.

rolling 2 year so 2023/24 and 2024/25
adult ST 120 points (hospitality 150)
sliding scale for half season, 16 games etc.
membership 25 points
women's home game 5 points
men's home or away 5 points
2 game match bundle 7 points
FA or League cup 5 points
u-21 2 points

numbers of fans in various points tiers
261-1000 = 30
221-260 = 126
181-220 = 564
141-180 = 2906
101-140 = 5624
61-100 = 184
21-60 = 2450
0-20 = 34,377
----
I am guessing the 2024/25 ST points haven't been added yet.
So the first 720 priority to get to 180 looks like you had a ST (120) and went to at least 12 other games (12 x 5).
The next tier with 2906 starts at 101, so i guess is basically all the other ST holders from last year.

Bristol City
can't find mention of any specific loyalty scheme / points / away membership
just that ST holders get priority, then members etc

They don't need one they only took 266 supporters to Blackburn on a Tuesday night last season 😎 .

Burnley
loyalty points based scheme has been running since the 2000s
revised for last season
rolling five years so 2018/19 19/20 20/21 21/22 22/23 and then any matches in 23/24
ST 350 points
home match 10 points
away match 20 points

Cardiff
can't find a loyalty scheme.
there is a bluebirds rewards, but that is for discounts on merch etc

PURCHASING AWAY LEAGUE TICKETS
Season Ticket holders are entitled to purchasing 1 ticket per valid season ticket (subject to availability, or pre-determined sales
criteria and any alternative pandemic restrictions) Where possible, season ticket holders will be prioritised over club members.
Concession categories for away league fixtures may vary to those at Cardiff City FC, as these are determined by the home club’s
ticketing policy.

Coventry
operate a priority points scheme
points accumulate for a rolling five years including the current season.
so this season
21/22 22/23 23/24 and current 24/25
adult ST gets 230 points
the rest I am finding from message boards so no idea if still accurate
away games 15 points.
evening away 20 points

[they also have a Premier season ticket offer, where you pay a premium, and if they get promoted to the EPL in the next five seasons you get a free ST in the EPL. You have to renew every year]

Hull
Can't find anything official.
But looking at last year's Ipswich - Hull fixture, looks like
Members (ie ST holders) go on sale first
then on general sale

[They replaced "Season Tickets" with "Memberships" a few seasons ago]

Leeds
difficult to work out how this all fits together
apparently there are 3000 away season tickets for £800 according to message boards.
or there is a super away attendees?

The away allocation policy is fully transparent to supporters. The example below is based on an allocation of 3000;

27% Away Season Ticket Holders
9.5% Super Away Attendees
27% Tracker (supporters with high tracker attendance from the 2022/23 season)
27% Home Season Ticket Holders on a first come first served basis
9.5% Members on a first come first served basis

In the EFL Championship each club must make provision for at least 2,000 visiting supporters or such number as represents 10% of the club’s certified capacity, if less than 2,000.

Over the last few seasons, the club has developed a policy, in consultation with the Supporters Advisory Board, to ensure the allocation of away tickets is founded on rewarding away loyalty whilst also allowing the wider fan base to attend a small number of games a season to be able to experience supporting the team away from home.

The away ticketing policy will continue to be focused on rewarding our supporters who have regularly attended away fixtures, with Away Season Ticket Holders guaranteed a ticket along with those supporters who have achieved a high attendance record (Super Away Attendees*) attending** over 80% of away games (League & Cup) in the seasons between 2015/16 and 2019/20 (100 games or more between 2015/16 and 2019/20). Please note, for the 2023/24 season, no further supporters will be invited to join the 'Super Away Attendees' group unless any of the existing 'Super Away Attendees' lapse.

The remaining tickets will then be distributed between supporters who gained a high away match attendance during the 2022/23 season – these supporters will have a 50% chance of gaining a ticket for each away match. This will mean that almost two thirds of the tickets will always be allocated to supporters with a track record of high away attendance.

By also ensuring that a small allocation of tickets are made available for Season Ticket Holders and Members, we are offering more fans the chance to experience supporting the team away from home, which will in turn help to grow the Leeds United fan base, particularly with younger supporters. Growing our fan base is a central strategic pillar of ensuring continued on-field success.

Home Season Ticket Holders and Members will be offered tickets on a first come first served basis, allowing them the opportunity to not only occasionally attend an away match but also allowing them the chance to build up their away attendance to enable them to access the away tracker system for future campaigns.

*Please note, a supporter who has accrued 100+ away games as a Personal Assistant (PA) using complimentary tickets does not qualify as a Super Away Attendee unless the disabled supporter they accompany also qualifies by having attended 100+ away games. Personal Assistants (PA) accounts do not accrue their own personal loyalty.

**Purchased a ticket via the Leeds United Ticket Office.

also see this for the ST holder not attending matches.
Note they don't include anything in the "attendance deemed to include" section
Updated terms and conditions on General Admission Season Ticket non-attendance

Despite the overwhelming demand for tickets, Season Ticket holders not attending matches at Elland Road is still a problem as it detracts from our legendary atmosphere that is vital to the teams’ performance.

As a result, a new ‘usage’ condition will be implemented within our Season Ticket terms and conditions.

Season Ticket Holders must attend 80% of the home league games at Elland Road or they will not be invited to renew for the following season. Attendance shall be deemed to include:

The introduction of this attendance condition has proved successful at other Club’s ensuring as many supporters as possible get to see the team whilst encouraging fans to monetise matches they cannot attend making season tickets more affordable.

Arsenal ban 20,000 members and 54 ST holders for touting attempting to obtain tickets in unauthorised ways.
Also cancel 24 season tickets for not attending enough games / making tickets available for resale. Requirement 17 out of 22 games, changing to 20 out of 23 next season.

Interesting - looks like away tickets always go on sale at 10am Monday about four weeks before the game.
Then each week day a new sales window opens until Friday when general sale is reached.

I wonder how that works in practice if you are trying to book advance train tickets but don't know if you'll get a match ticket?
Or will those fans generally be catered for in the 1st sales window as they will probably have more credits for previous away games ?
