Tonight, U23s play Swansea U23s in premier cup (?) at Thame 7pm kick off
U23s are a Chrissy Allen squad, and therefore should be capable of notching up a win

An attacking side in yellow with drive and determination, now thats something of a rarity this season

Came here because I'd been wondering about following U23s but found out about tonight too late to switch plans. Don't suppose there'll be any coverage anywhere?

maybe the odd scores/ ht & ft snippets via official OUFC twitter? ...guess on my part though

Have been trying to find fixtures so that I can plan a bit better but official site only seems to have U18 and First (ha ha) Team? Any clues?

next 2 U23 games (premier cup- 3 game group stage...including tonight v Swansea) are away vHull 12 Nov and 'home' v Wolves ...where the 'home' game is being played is as yet TBA so far as I can find out...hope that helps a bit @derek

Thanks. For all the effort being put into the U23s it doesn't look like the club has realised it needs to do some basics, like integrating them into the website - competition details, fixtures etc etc. Tonight's facebook post was the first I'd heard of the Swansea game, although I only came back from holiday last night.

Quite enjoying watching this (in a cab in Dublin). Good on Swansea for streaming it, and with commentary too’

True, well done Swansea. Managed to catch most of the second half, great to have that winning feeling again!

The u23 game is being streamed live here: http://live.swanseacity.com
Waheey thanks for that - I’ve actually seen an Oxford Utd team win a match?! Well played lads, you’ve cheered me up tonight.

By the way, Karl Robinson has just said in an interview that in no way does he want any credit for tonight’s win....

Well done to the Very Rev. James.... best name I've seen in a long time.... if he makes it to first team we've got to go back to a black away shirt with a dog collar design!
Well done Chrissy and the boys, (y)

I missed the goal, but watched the second half and was impressed with what I saw. We’ve got some good young players. The centre backs look like real units and Rev James looks an exciting prospect. Slavi Spasov only made a cameo appearance but you can see there’s something special about him.

Owen James did well to get beyond his man and put the cross in. He isn't big but looks strong and hard to knock off the ball. Rev James is very powerful and all in all it was great to watch. I think are whole academy set up looks really impressive and i'm hoping we can bring more players through to the first team. I'd much rather we spent larger sums on a few quality transfers and supplemented that with good players coming through the U23's but I guess that takes time. Encouraging signs though.

Obviously the highlights are cut for their audience but is it a false impression based on our official match report (assuming that is in anyway accurate*)?

*I don't know as I wasn't there.

From what I saw when I watched on Swansea City tv our youngsters more than matched theirs. They looked a good settled side that worked hard for each other, every one of them putting a shift in and they played some good entertaining stuff. In fact you’d have thought it was our first team out there, oh hang on a minute......

We were the better team although they had a good spell of pressure and carved out a couple of good opportunities. It was an impressive display and to my mind, the best team won.
