A whole life tariff can only be imposed for murder convictions, not manslaughter. So while Arthur's stepmother could (in theory at least) have her tariff increased from her current minimum tariff of 29 years to a whole life tariff, this can't happen with Arthur's father, who was only convicted of manslaughter.I see there is now an appeal to have the sentences increased for the offenders.
I hope this means a whole life tariff
