General Around the leagues

I know it can't happen as so many professional clubs are dependant on the bigger teams in Scotland, but Aberdeen, Hibs/Hearts and Celtic/Rangers would be.... interesting to have in the English football system.

Imagine Millwall v Celtic, Plymouth v Aberdeen, Cardiff v Hibs, it would be kind of fascinating.
Would be good to have a British league cup. May be a way of drumming up more interest in it.

Are we saying just within a football fans perspective, or in a Derry/Londonderry during the 80s level of sectarianism?
I've never been to Glasgow so have no idea the wider feeling around protestant/catholic divide up there in 2026. Some other posters might know.

Definitely in a footballing context, it maybe lessened but never completely went away.

It is a massive shame that there's no away allocations and I hope its resolved. But after the violence last season don't see it for a while. A shame.

Can you imagine a strip club in Barnsley? Pregnant women dancing round a poll with a fag in their mouth while their grandchildren sit by the side of the stage with a bottle of pop and a pack of crisps. When do we play them again?

I'm not sure what Blackpool's offering would look like either. Guessing there would be an old man with a greyhound sat in the corner drinking a pint of John Smiths.

I was in one in Blackpool on a stag do about 5 years back and one of the women told me she had just become a grandmother again at 39, she was actually a nice women to be fair. Not a story I tell the missus though.

There is one in Aldershot near me, I have always imagined that every girl working there has a squaddy dad she has never met, PTSD once removed, never been though as my missus friend lives in the flats over the road.

Is it common for greyhounds to drink John Smiths up there then?
In The Priory (RIP), I once saw a Shrewsbury fan let his dog drink some of his pint which was quite amusing as the dog was quite skilled at doing so. Said fan then downed the last third of that pint which was less pleasant to watch…….

Fixed that for you.

Sounds like the Stevenage one except there's only one woman who works there and she's never around.

Wycombe also signed ‘keeper Joe Wildsmith in the past couple of days.
