Fair chance, they had what we had the first season in momentum early on, which played a big part in us and them staying up.

If we’d held on and not given away that silly penalty, it would have been four wins in a row. That would have been genuine momentum going into those last eight matches.

As it was, that result took the wind from our sails and we never quite recovered. Two wins from eight and draws that could and should have been wins (Hull and Portsmouth mainly) and that was it.

If Charlton haven’t strengthened, they’ll be in the relegation conversation for sure.

Portsmouth away, for me.

About as much of a 'gimme' away win as you will ever get at that level - awful opponents on an awful run of form and down to 10 men early.

A really lacklustre point for us - and enough for Portsmouth to use as a springboard to win their next three.

That's the one that pisses me off the most.

I seem to remember this being a bit more common years back, with the new financial rules it might become again.

I presume there must be a 'transfer fee' of such attached to the deals, for financial reporting purposes. Well, unless it's Blackpool, then it would go down as 'free' of course.
