As the club don't think he will make the step up (at least soon) then I think it is right to let him go so he may find a club this season (Conference or below) and be ahead of the rush to find a club in the summer.

Jeez it’s a harsh life for these young footballers isn’t it? I wish him well and hope he finds a new club.
I think it's especially tough considering a release means a drop down to a division where they're probably not joining a professional club. However, it is good in a way to see the U23s not being a side that lets in passengers. Sometimes with U23 teams there will be some players that simply make up the numbers - good to see the club not following that method.

The club suggested that Jones, Elechi and Taylor were above him in the progress and pecking order.
What is the thought if those who have watched the younger players (junior, Sarge anybody else?)

Nico Jones is a unit and looked to have potential as did Elechi who didn't stop running. I don't remember Taylor.
