Matches American Football Tourism

What game was this? Looking at the flares pre-match I'd guess Norwich opening day? Though the upload was only two weeks ago

I'll tell you what "heleneinbetween", why don't you do us all a favour, and stay in America?

Your uneducated, patronising and mocking observations are embarrassing. You'd made your mind up before even attending that you weren't going to like the experience, so why bother?

Thanks for your £25/£30 admission money, but you've denied a seat to a real fan, for our first game at this level for 25 years. Take your £25/£30 and fuck off back to America.

Bit harsh. You ok hun?

Feel like you missed an important line there:

I don't think it was harsh at all.

She was looking for a reaction, and that's mine.

Is that OK with you "hun"?
Doubling down on it then. Hmm.

Is being American that offensive? Would you say the same to the American fans on here talking about coming to our games? There's been talk of a new American Yellows podcast. Last match we even welcomed Tex onto the pitch at half time.

There have been loads of "Worst Stadium" videos about us by English youtubers, this doesn't come close to any of those. I just don't understand how you're so triggered.

It's just someone having a nice time broadening their horizons, and hopefully they'll encourage others to do the same. Everyone has to come to their first game at some point. We should welcome all and sundry, whatever their nationality.

There is something unsavoury about taking a seat from one of the many people who actually missed out on our first Championship game, just to make a patronising little video about how cutesy football is.

Not really her fault I guess, but it shows a typically American lack of thought.

They just don't get it, stick to your world series American football 😂 that only they play 😂 yeah real world series....

Not sure why you'd be so triggered by this. It's clearly just a bit of fun.

To be fair if I was in America and got a chance to go to a local sports game that I’d never been to before, I’m not sure that I’d think about how I might be taking a seat from someone else? Or maybe I’m just not very considerate?…

No. On it's own it's not, but when it's coupled with being patronising and piss taking, then yes. But the same would go for any nationality.

Don't try to push me into a particular corner, regarding nationality. There are plenty of things, and people, who piss me off, and they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and nationalities, including English, but this is a thread titled American Football Tourism.

Funny enough I was in America last week, and went to a sports bar to watch an American Football game, which is not really my bag, but our hosts were going anyway. I thought parts of it were OK and parts of it were a bit boring, but I didn't feel the need to rush onto social media to belittle it.

Last thing. Do you think using the word "triggered" helps make your point, and portray me as some sort of loon?

Oh, here's another one using the word "triggered".

It's not my idea of "fun" reading some uneducated ignoramus taking the piss out of my sport, my club, and my culture. Or should I just suck it up and shout at the clouds rather than expressing my opinion, which is what a forum is all about?

"Triggered" is a word I dislike, it is usually trying to portray somebody as losing their rag irrationally and ranting at something trivial. It's become a bit like "snowflake" in its overuse.

I haven't watched the clip, it would probably annoy me as much as it does Colin so I've given it a swerve.

The original instagram linked has had over 7,500 likes so must be a popular account.
I wonder if she has ever heard of the Laurel and Hardy film "a Chump at Oxford"?
The problem is once you watch one of these videos, the algorithms think you want to watch more and more of them.
Once I watched a video of the royal horseguards and a tourist trying to pet the horse.
Now that seems to be all I ever get on videos you might want to watch.

I'll double down on "a bit harsh" too, which it was. For what it's worth the emphasis on nationality came explicitly from your post. I could try to read between the lines but I'm not doing that. Triggered is just a word people use. Maybe there's some generational misunderstanding going on here. I don't see the P**s taking or belittling that you do - I see someone having a great time and sharing that in a positive way. Maybe I'm not as tribal as others but we all contribute in our own way. Keep up the good work Colin.
