I think Phil's a bit old for a third stint at the club...Gilchrist would be ideal as a replacement for Nelson.
However much I’d like to see him back
Good for him, hope he kicks on. Gave us everything he had last year and made a difference. Will get an applause from me.He’s passed his medical so he won’t come back here unless it’s with Sheffield United
What’s everyone’s stance on Matos coming on loan in Jan?
Out of favour at Sheffield United and only just getting back on bench due to Tom Davies getting injured again. He also rarely comes on as sub.
A lot of there fans think he will go loaned out and I don’t see why we wouldn’t go in for him.
Would imagine it may depend on whether the Blades have fully pulled away from the bottom third by January (which looks likely) in terms of loaning a player to a 'rival'.What’s everyone’s stance on Matos coming on loan in Jan?

Not necessarily. You can only have five loanees in a matchday squad, but I don't think there's a limit to how many you can have registered in total provided you keep within the 23-man totalWe'd have to lose an existing loan signing for that it to make sense if it was a loan.

Ben Nelson isn't getting much game time at Leicester...If Davies goes we'd probably need another CB unless GR thinks Negru or Golding could be recalled and cover (unlikely though).
How about signing them both on permanents Matos isn't fancied and Sheffield and Nelson can't get into a Leicester team that struggles to keep clean sheetsBen Nelson isn't getting much game time at Leicester...

Don't see why he wouldn't esp. if he has a fitness issue and it was already put to him that he would be a squad player dependent on set up etc.I doubt Davies will stick around, he’s hardly played

We're only paying Davies around half/two thirds of his full salary right now (call it the Stuart Findley clause) so almost nae chance of us signing him to a new contract before the end of the season.Seems like a strong backup and his contract's expiring. Davies could sign permanently and allow us another loan.

Maybe we could avoid a replacement for Prelec if Romeny is considered an option as the 9.
Nelson had just broken into their starting lineup (about time, given that he's clearly superior to the band of international misfits that had been making up their central defense) when he did his ankle, and has been out with that a few weeks since. Very much doubt that they're about to let him go.
I can almost guarantee you that we'll have less forwards in the squad by the time that January ends. Partly from listening to GR, and partly just from simple logic. We have three CMs in our squad for two slots, and thirteen forwards for the four more attacking slots (including Sibley because I think he's better further forward and not much use in a more defensive role, but not including GOD). That is not sensible squad-building maths.
Even if Prelec doesn't go, I would hope that Bradshaw and Sibley would to free up space for a couple more central players.
He would have come in knowing that he was going to be back up CB.I doubt Davies will stick around, he’s hardly played
