Oxford United are delighted to announce the appointment of Aimee McKenzie as the Club’s new Chief Operating Officer.www.oufc.co.uk
Compared to josh machrechanWonderful teeth!
When we played at Charlton my family and I stopped at Putney Bridge and on the Sunday morning we walked through the park and around the Fulham ground. The new stand it a fantastic addition and parts of it are used 7 days a week, the coffee shop/bistro was open at 10.30 and there was music playing in the background with a restaurant opening for lunch.I know they have bars open in the evening with djs on on Thursday Friday and Saturday evenings. We will hopefully utilise our new stadium in some of these ways.My Fulham ST holder mate had never heard of her. But their supporters do love the new Riverside Stand. It’s mightily impressive. And one hell of an engineering achievement. So Aimee has some form.
Fulham also encourage their supporters to get their drinking in early at the ground by having happy hour prices up to an hour before kick off. Wouldn’t that be good at the Triangle…
Amiee's first meeting with Tim.
Aimee: "I'm really excited to get to work on the new stadium, I have so many ideas of how we can create a first-class matchday experience for our fans"
Tim: "Fans? I thought we discussed this in the interview"
Aimee: "Of course, apologies. I meant customers"
Tim: "Good. Lets put the stadium talk aside for the moment. At last week's match a 67 year old fan shouted 'Sort it out, Tim' and I felt very unsafe. Your first priority needs to be increasing my security team."
Aimee: "Ahh...okay. I know we discussed security being part of my remit but I didn't realise that meant your own personal security. Don't you already have a security team? Is the current arrangement not sufficient?"
Tim: "Did you not hear what I just said about the 'sort it out' incident?
Aimee: "Yes, right, of course. Will one additional security guard be sufficient?"
Tim: "Let's start with one but that will need to be reviewed on a monthly basis. If I get any more abuse from our OAP customers I think we should consider armed security"
Aimee (chuckling before she realises Tim is being serious): "Oh, right, well... I'll have to check the legality of it. It's also not going to create a good public image"
Tim: "Yes, that's a fair point. I'll tell you what, speak to Adam. We still have a joblot of the blue and white Wembley t-shirts from 2024. We'll offer £5 off to anyone who spends £200 in the clubshop. That should even it out".
Having overseen the building of several impressive stadiums on LMA Manager, I have to say it comes as somewhat of a surprise to see this news today. It was only last week that Tim and I were discussing stadium plans over a hot chocolate in Boswells.
Live band pre, and clubbing after, on evening games. I didn't mention pole dancing and casino.
I was referring to the cafe in the Templars Square plaza. Cornmarket/George St is so 1990.The Boswells that has shut down and has been replaced by a hotel? Believed you till that point of your story.
Is the the Templars Square plaza still there? I thought it was abandoned - all the shops have shut down.I was referring to the cafe in the Templars Square plaza. Cornmarket/George St is so 1990.
Oh god, everyone's favourite coffee and cafe threads coming upI know who I would rather have a Coffee with!
What was your first coffee?Oh god, everyone's favourite coffee and cafe threads coming up
I used to like St Giles Cafe in St Giles - I think the first place I had 'frothy coffee' as it was then known. No strong view now, there are millions of indistinguishable cafes in town.Oh god, everyone's favourite coffee and cafe threads coming up

I wish they'd do something with it, it's depressing. Used to be a decent enough shopping centreCowley Centre was still there last time I got the bus past it, admittedly a year back but it completely shutting down would have made the news I reckon. Templars square plaza must be the poshest name for a run down shopping centre, think they had plans to do something to do something to it and build a hotel but don't know if they are going to.

I only live round the corner but don't think I've been in since Wilko's shut - that was at least sometimes useful.I have been in (or walked through) a couple of times this season pre-match.
Queues at Gregg's, but the rest is pretty redundant unless you want your eyebrows threaded or a new weave, or someone to unlock your definitely not stolen mobile phone.
It is arguably an even more depressing place than when my mother would drag me round in the mid 90s - and it was f*cking depressing then.

If we're doing out of town then the cafe in the abbey at Dorchester - with cakes made by local ladiesThe Cafe on the bank of the Thames in Benson was nice when I last went, but that was a while ago.
Cakes made by local ladies?! You don't fool us. Come on, tell us the truth. If we're doing out of town then the cafe in the abbey at Dorchester - with cakes made by local ladies
