So far, his confidence seems very fragile. He has a bad moment and then his head goes. Far too mentally distracted.

Getting a sound 30 mins out of him seems a more realistic expectation than 90 mins at the moment.
He was on the end of a right bollocking from Lankshear after losing the ball and simply stopping to look shocked. Everyone else was running back to defend. It's what made a real difference yesterday, everyone had their instructions on what to do in, and out of possession.

So far he's been cack. But, just for once, can we get behind a player in need of some confidence?
Especially because, despite the bad start, he has shown glimpses of something we've badly missed - a wide player with some physicality and appetite to drive at the opposition.

I thought he was decent v WBA.

Lack of composure when CamBran squared it to him, but that aside, I thought he looked like he could be a very decent player at this level.

As an aside: show me a winger who's not a confidence player. :)
I think Mills is quite consistent, at least in his approach. Always plays direct and very rarely shys away from the ball. Perhaps he is permanently confident!

I like this guy he's strong got a good bit of pace the only real issue I have with him is sometimes I don't think his brain knows what his legs are doing there were moments yesterday where he just looked confused with the ball

Just my opinion

Some nice glimpses in the last few games ,much better than MPH who I think would be better as an attacking midfielder, but promising

Some weird comments on here recently.
His main job is to score goals, he's been abysmal so far. The wasted chance at the end against WBA could have cost us dear.
I'm not writing him off, just can't understand how some people can be satisfied with what we've seen.
By contrast MPH has one maybe two bad games and is written off despite being seen as our best player a couple of weeks ago.

Is his main job not to create chances? That’s the typical role of a winger. He’s got one less than Peart Harris who’s had considerably more game time.

I don’t disagree with you in terms of his performances so far. However, he was certainly more effective on Saturday.

Agree he's not really produced anything tangible yet. But I think he is a profile of player that we haven't had certainly since Murphy left: a winger who is quick and physical and, when isolated v a defender, generally has the physicality to beat his man. It won't always leads to goals, but having a player like that A) gives us an outlet, and B) gives opposition defences something to think about, both of which we haven't had enough of this year. He ran the Stoke rightback ragged midweek (appreciate he may have been a CB by trade, but still), and I thought there were a couple of signs on Saturday of the beginnings of an understanding between him and Donley developing: a couple of balls from Donley inside the fullback that Emakhu was able to run onto, the likes of which we haven't seen on a regular basis in years. From one of those he put in that wonderful ball across the box that nobody got on the end of.

Not the finished product by a long shot yet, but I think as he grows in confidence and understanding with the team there is every reason to be optimistic and excited about him as an attacking weapon.

Have to agree about the chance he had but why did cam bran not shoot himself, he only had the goalie to beat.

I think he might turn out to be useful, he’s quite a big strong bloke for a winger but is still quick and able to beat a man. It’s a shame he’s taking a while to get up to speed though, was he not playing at Millwall?

He is one of the signings that we made which made me think we had an eye on us being in league 1 next season. An inconsistent player at this level but could be excellent in league 1.

An inconsistent winger is hardly a new one. Bigger problem for me is that it’s only been the odd flash in the good column so far, need a bit more of that to consider him as a starter at the moment.

Must admit he worried me today , yes awful first game for confidence but been out of starting line up and came back into a team that had won 3 ....lovely flick by Lanks which he doesn't get between ball and defender get brushed off and a opportunity blown . Didn't show pace , strength or composure after that although did work back in the build up for the pen....hope he gets confidence and becomes a player but a very disappointing start .

This guy strikes me as a confidence player, so I absolutely despair at the grumbles and groans when he (or anyone!) makes mistakes.

Hope he manages to win over the doubters and contribute to our survival this year.
I guess we needn’t worry too much, after all recruitment have a really good record of making astute signings.

This is exactly the type of attitude we need. It will definitely help new players who might be lacking in confidence to settle quickly, perform to the best of their ability, and contribute to the team's success. Thank you.

I do hope you sit right by the tunnel so you can boo right in the faces of everyone you don't rate. Or maybe get to the ground before they arrive, so you can abuse them on the way in?

Whatever it is, keep up the great work - all fans should aspire to be just like you 👍🏼

Yeah I’m really bored of this sneering sort of post, smart a**e criticism from guys who couldn’t kick the ball back to a group of lads in the park. It’s just tedious to read so much negativity.

Anyway I thought Emakhu was decent as a sub recently but today he tried a couple of things that didn’t come off and seemed to lose his nerve. To his credit he improved in the second half. I imagine he’ll be back on the bench next week but we’re not short of wingers.

Emakhu has been fairly awful so far. No arguments stand up for him being in the team.

‘He’s young’ - He is a day younger than Stan Mills, has more professional appearances and is not even close to SM level.

‘He only just signed in January’ - ….And so did MPH, who has even had time to let his form dip in some games. So did Donley, who was injured until recently. So did Makosso, who’s had time to dislodge Helik, be brilliant, and then be replaced by him again.

He’s not at the level. Doesn’t mean he won’t be. Doesn’t mean he can’t be. He’s a 3.5 year deal project. Now is not the time to trial with him and risk our place in this division.

He should be used extremely sparingly and if he’s left out of the squad to try and give a go to Dembele, Placheta or Romeny, all as wildcard as Emakhu, then so be it. A million quid price tag shouldn’t entitle him to a place in the squad.

Harris and Vaulks should also be used sparingly. These players are not in our best couple of options for each position. Bloomfield needs to be ruthless.
