Just seen Dermot Gallagher's review of the potential foul on Jamie Cumming on Saturday for their goal on Ref Watch (on in the background). Apparently alright as only "contact" even though he was held at one point with an arm around his side.
On that basis we should be doing this every corner as it will only be 'contact' so should be acceptable.
He laughably said the Refs have learnt from last week where a Red Card wasn't given (even after a VAR check) for a lunging in the air challenge that raked down the opponent's Achilles. From my experience as a player and Ref from the 80s onwards those challenges have never been acceptable so what exactly are the Refs' learning now?
