Away Match Day Thread +++ 3/11/2018 Scunthorpe United v OUFC +++

You cant concede 4 at home to Plymouth and not park the bus. Lost their last 5, confidence low and similar needed to us, 5 games ago. Despite their best, we nick it with a single goal. Browne of course with Granger watching from the stands, promising to be a good boy, and licking his lips.
Who's this Granger fellow? Not another triallist?;)

To be fair he looked both fully fit and very good in pre-season. We maybe played him a bit too much then, but had he not been injured he would have been one of our most in-form players

So, those 18 (+Mitchell) are our only fit senior players, (possibly why long, Raglan & Garbutt are all on the bench) - after that it is U23s and L/T injured (Hall, Obika, Baptiste, Carruthers). It's a good job we have so many versatile players (eg Ruffels)!

Afternoon all. Be nice to get the win but a draw will do to keep the unbeaten run going and keep us moving up the League. Another clean sheet please lads and see if we can nick one up front.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS

Over the years, it has become really obvious how much of a gamble signing (or loaning in) injured players is. At best they take a while to get fit and then get up to match pace (which, especially if they are signed as key players means an almost inevitable slow start to their time at the club), at worst it turns out the the injury is recurrent, getting worse or even career ending.

Carruthers had an unfortunate injury - nothing you can do about that. Just a fact of life in sports in general.
