Championship 2nd city derby - pitch invader assaults Grealish

Wasnt there a Brummy pitch invader at the same fixture in 2017? albeit after the final whistle?
think it resulted in a fine of £20,000 ...or maybe £200,000 (?) for BCFC plus a warning?
Don't forget the one who ran on after Enkleman let that comedy OG in from the throw-in - stood right in his face mocking him - quite a while ago, but another one to add to the list.

Question is at what stage closing the home end and/or points fines become appropriate - the instinct is not to do either as that punishes everyone, but at some stage something more has to be done....
Wonder how popular he would be if there was a points fine, which coupled with the FFP deduction they are also facing actually got them relegated??

A quote from a friend of his:

“His family are worried. We were all watching and no one could believe what Paul did. He’s loud and not the brightest but this was totally insane.”

No sh*t Sherlock, sounds like a complete tool.

Blues didn't cover themselves in glory yesterday with this and the vile tweets that went around about Grealish's brother who passed away. Not that a fan base can be judged on a few idiots.

Not so sure with some of the posts that appear on here.......

That aside, hit them hard. Shut the ground for 3 or 4 games, points deduction as well. Even the thick ones will learn.

not sure they would learn though. it’s the same as the ‘fans’ that repeatedly let off smoke bombs even when club threatened with consequences

'During the court hearing, defence solicitor Vaughn Whistance said online threats had been made to Mitchell.'

Well shock, horror - you reap what you sow - mind you, how many keyboard warriors actually do anything in reality?

Mr Whistance said the pub worker's family had left the area "through fear that they would suffer serious harm or even death".

Got to feel a bit sorry for them - tainted by this tosser. The chances of death are perhaps a little overegged though.

He said Mitchell "cannot explain what came over him yesterday morning".

Because he doesn't have a real grasp of the English Language and can only grunt?

"His initial foolish intention was to just go on to the pitch and whip up the crowd," Mr Whistance added.

Oh - that's ok then, can't see any issue with that - what a marvellous defence!

Mitchell, a Birmingham City season ticket holder for 20 years, was said to be "very remorseful" and realised he had "brought shame" on his club.

Hmm, is he and does he or is he trying to get a reduced sentence? He's being sentenced at 2pm, should be interesting.

Even after the event , he is waving and laughing about it! Did he not think,Oh dear I am going inside for a while for this one? Maybe I should keep my head down a bit.
But was funny is cap flying round , should have take that off first chap.

From the BBC:

A Birmingham City fan has been jailed for 14 weeks for attacking Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish during the second city derby.

Mitchell, of Cock Hill Lane, was also ordered to pay £350 in fines and has been banned from attending any football matches in the UK for 10 years.

not that harsh sentence. judge had chance to make an example of him and put off others thinking about doing similar

I find it rather interesting that someone gets "fast tracked" through the judicial system so quickly when it is "high profile".

If that had been your average Saturday night in town with one yob lumping a passer by the system would be much, much slower.

Aside from that he should have got a longer sentence.
