Just watched the highlights, and the movement for Shemmy's goal is superb.

As soon as Currie wins his header, Harris comes short, bringing their LCB with him and Romeny makes a long diagonal run from right to left drawing the attention of their RCB, and those two movements combine to create the space for Shemmy to run into.

It's superb, selfless, movement, and brilliantly executed.

Cumming - amazing. Used his face to save one shot. What a shot-stopper he is.

Helik and Brown were strong, solid, determined not to concede.

The ball from BdK to Placheta for the goal was sublime - but we need to provide him with pace on the wings to play that sort of pass. Placheta and Mills have it, Krastev and Goodrham don’t.

Best contribution from goodrham for maybe 12 months, thought he was spot on tonight

I was too nervous to watch it live on Sky so recorded it and checked the HT and FT live scores with great apprehension.

Have just finished watching the game in full - so proud of all our players - loads of energy, effort and determination and not a little skill as well.

At £165m v £30m, we were always going to be up against it for some or all of the game, but that was a huge result. So pleased for Sparky to score - thought his pressing was great as well which obviously created the chance.

COYY

How many of the Oxford individual players would get in the Ipswich team? Cumming? Maybe Brown? They are streeets ahead of us financially , what with all them parachutes . We played so well tonight.

Spirit and organization can get you a long way even in this Champ and by the end we were deserved winners. Ipswich looked brittle and a bit ragged. By the end.

I went to the game on Tuesday and noticed the (few) ‘supporters’ calling for Rowett’s head. Perhaps a period of self-reflection, lads? That was a bit of a coaching masterclass from the Bromsgrove Simeone.

Placheta the most infuriating footballer ever seen in a yellow shirt. Yet another performance to savor after the Middlesbrough fiasco. What a goal.

As for Sparky, well done son! Keep it going.

Just leaving the pop up pub in Tackley after sharing a nice gottle or 2 of red, with another edjit.
You put Marco upfront and how does he repay you. Now having to move onto plan Z
May have to play Sibley upfront and G’od would fit in nicely alongside Brian and Vaulksy,
Squeeze Dems in as a ball playing centre half, between Mike annd Ciaron.
maybe Brads between the sticks as he used to be lethal in the box. And has a better beard than the old man, whatever his name is.
Just can’t trust these players to do what you want.

I predict he'll start at Swansea, and be utterly unplayable - scores a worldie, makes another, dominates the game.

Then we'll start him again at Blackburn three days later, and he'll give the ball away 19 out of 20 touches before being hauled off at halftime - with the other one being a shot from 40 yards that leaves Ewood Park.

All part of the Shemmy Experience.........

What a brilliant game that was. On other days we draw or even lose that, but so many players came up good today in big moments in the match that a win feels fully justified.

I think my favourite part of the highlights is Vaulks' contribution in the scramble at the end where he gets back to put a challenge in, then throws himself at a shot, straight back up to then get another challenge in to help stop the shot, before a celebration like he just scored the winner. That was the attitude the whole team had tonight and it was a fantastic effort by all.

That Cumming save on 88 mins is an incredible stop. It didn’t come across as such in the stands.

Not one mouthful of humble pie will be passing my lips thank you. I was right, performances and results have not been good enough, and we should've and could've been doing a lot better, if we'd approached more games like we've approached tonight's game and the previous games I mentioned.
If we'd done that more often, we'd be a lot better off right now.

Why would I want any humble pie, when I've been right all along?
Instead, I think I'll have a nice helping of "I told you so"

;)
Yeah, I'd keep digging if I were you ;)

Fantastic performance, what a night ! Have to say, I’m a massive fan of Friday night football, at all of our Friday night fixtures its just felt everything’s cranked up a notch.

A shout out for three players I, personally, have been very critical of - Harris, Placheta and Goodrham. While I still thought Harris struggled at times and looks out of his depth on a football level you can’t knock his endeavour, he set the tone last night. Placheta is crazily inconsistent - how can you go from Middlesbrough to a cameo like that ? And Tyler, a decent showing last night and flashes of his old self. Well done to all three.

There were heroic performances everywhere last night though - Cumming and the back four were brilliant, Long superb and what a great buy Helik has been. BDK and Vaulks put in unbelievable shifts and take a bow Stan Mills, that lad worked his nuts off out there. Not his most productive - although there were moments - in an attacking sense but in terms of tracking back, getting behind the ball and making tackles he was superb. Krastev a touch frustrating over all but he’s made his contribution this week and there were some nice touches last night.

Liked the look of Romeny too. He linked well with Goodrham and although space was appearing everywhere as Ipswich pressed for an equaliser his use of the ball was good. Another couple of half hours off the bench and he’ll be up to speed and an interesting option for Rowett as he does offer something that bit different.

We might slip back a place or two today but whatever happens we’ve put ourselves in a great position to kick on with some fixtures coming up where we could get ourselves into a position of relative comfort heading in to the second half of the season. With that gap to Norwich widening I think we want to see them continuing to drop points because we could cut them adrift if that gets ten points plus.

All part of the Shemmy Experience
Isn’t it just ‘all part of the inconsistent-winger-at-the-lower-end-of-the-champ’ experience? If Placheta played like he can play every week, then we’re certainly not keeping hold of him.

It’s a bit like the Sam Long thing - he seems to be ‘not Championship standard’ because he’s had a few bad games 🤷

I don't even think Cumming.

The Ipswich lad was light-years ahead with his feet, and I think that's what they'd want.

I am very glad Cumming is our goalkeeper.

Swansea’s next two home matches (they are away at West Brom today) are Oxford Utd and Portsmouth!

Well to make @Eric Blair happy I thought the light show really added to the dove I dropped just beforehand. Came down just in time to see us score which seemed to give the team and me a natural euphoric high that we carried on for the rest of the game, even Ipswich scoring couldn’t dent that, which shows the importance of scoring first for us at this level.

A cracking Friday night game under the lights.

Well we were actually aggressive and pressed them, pretty much the first time we’ve done that at home this season & shock horror. We won a game.

You find it really hard to take joy in victories, don’t you?

Looking at your posts, it’s never quite unadulterated praise, you always like to get a little veiled critique in there, too. A shame really.

We beat Ipswich, in fact Rowett tactically outsmarted one of the brightest young managers in the country. Shock Horror!

You took Dove before the match? You’re eating heavily moisturising soap before games? Your skin must be so smooth.

Can’t believe people on here aren’t talking about the light show. Miserable bastards.
Yes. We thought it was a very good effort. From the SSU, the North stand looked to have the most lit up phones so, well done you folks!
I don't understand why so many are critical of these attempts to entertain by the club. Sure, some of the "activations" (stupid terminology) are just a tad pathetic or amateur but, this embraced technology and had the potential to involve everyone. Maybe some are so familiar with the capabilities of technology that they are not impressed but the Loungers found it very clever and innovative.

If you could splice the genes of the Loungers with @Sarge i think you’d get the perfect human being.

I agree Mills was brilliant defensively - worked so hard and outright tackled Philogene two or three times - but did anyone else notice how hard Placheta worked defensively as well when he came on? Constantly tracking back, and even blocked a low, goalbound shot as well. Exactly what you need from your wingers in these sort of games
We won't talk about his header back to nobody.😆
