Number 2 priority after a second striker!

I think Hanson defended better than normal against a very good winger but he’s not on the level of our other full backs. I don’t enjoy his passing.
We also have Forde and Williams but we don’t have a no 3 back uo which is a more a priority than a university number 2.

Sorry chaps ..no ref watch..made it the the turnstiles but felf rough...had a mini stroke! ..
Missed the game .. managed to get to car n home ...patamedics called, took me to a & e ....being kept in jr atm ...did we get a decent result? .. just been allowed online access

Obviously I don’t know you but all the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

What I noticed with Hanson on Saturday was how much room he was giving the winger to get his crosses in. He needed to be much closer to stop the crosses coming in the first place. The header that hit the post came from a left wing cross that really should have been stopped. There were 2 or 3 others as well. But overall, I think he did a reasonable job.

Cheers for all the messages etc :) ....was allowed home from hospital yesterday evening ....think my next game in person will be the wigan match dec 18th
Good man Sarge - I'm no Doctor, but I'd prescribe plenty of music to aid the recovery!

So I was going to talk about this on my Hanson post yesterday, but figured that I'd already waffled on enough as it was.

I still think the January order of business is 1) Full Back, 2) Striker.

And the reason is that we do already have two specialists as backup for the striker role. At this time, I don't think many of us are exactly excited by Winnall or Agyei, and the drop-off from Taylor is glaringly obvious whenever they play, but we do have depth even if it's not quality depth.

At full back, there is zero depth. We have a grand total of two specialists in total.
KR has been so lucky with defensive injuries the last couple of years, but we're still in a situation where if anything long-term befalls Long or, even worse, Seddon, then we are screwed.

A real alternative to Matty T who can score goals as well as lead the line and a left full back ( ok Robbo a winger or two as well) if we are serious about being contenders , and I'm certain we are.

Fair.

But two most important positions on the field are gk (we are very lucky here) and striker. In the latter it’s a false assurance to suggest we gave cover. Because strikers who don’t score goals aren’t really strikers, more so with only one up top.

Full backs are the least important positions in the field and can be covered far more easily by stand ins. So on a purist level youre correct we have less cover but risk based is be more concerned about striker.

If Hanson and Forde can get away playing there against top teams without us being annihilated then it’s not a priority

I wouldn't be surprised to see Agyei gone in January. Maybe even Winnall if somebody is prepared to take a punt.
