The bookies have Sheffield United as more likely to win than us (4/3 v 9/4) - we’ll just have to show ‘em then.

6 pointer…. Must win 🥇 🙂🙂

3-0 mighty Oxford today… start of a winning streak.

COYY’s

This just feels like one of those games Sheffield united winless can't score goals against Oxford who have just come of the back of an amazing victory on the road against unbeaten Bristol city.

If Sheffield score first they will time waste they will do every trick in the book to make sure we don't score. We need to start with high intensity get into them we definitely need the first goal

1-1

There is a strange paranoia amongst football fans who will see a resurgent Oxford team, who are playing with real grit and intent line up against a team devoid of confidence and without a single point - and see nothing but an Oxford defeat!

It might just be away of protecting ourselves agaibst the worst possible outcome. But there is the 'Eeyore Effect' where people become permanently pessimistic and negative often due to burnout or feeling that they have no control over what happens in their lives.

I know that these are only words, and nothing that is said on here, whether positive or negative, will change a single thing about the result today. And predictions are no more than a guess.

The Championship is a brutal league where there are no easy games. BUT, if you can't be right up for today, and hoping for our first home win and another massive three points, then I'm not sure that you ever will.

f**k Sheffield United, and f**k Chris Wilder. Today is all about Oxford United and we will win!!

I am going to the game with my daughter today - planning on getting there early to go to club shop etc, does anyone know when roughly the players arrive?

True. But I think wider social media can certainly help to shape the mood of a crowd.

And it some games there's definitely a crowd/team symbiosis. Which can be positive or negative.

How are you getting to the stadium? Parking? If so, I would say arrive for 12ish.

The players generally arrive between around 12.30 and 1pm in the South East corner of the ground. Some of the non-playing squad might arrive a little later and enter through the reception further down.

As I can't reply to my last ticket update, because the thread is closed, I've copied it below:

Early evening ticket update.

We now have 275 seats left. That means net sales of 113 so far today, although the club added in 25 seats to Block 12 of SSU, and a few others dotted around the SSL, so sales are about 150 with these included. At midnight before the Leicester game we had 128 seats left (ignoring the exchange seats) and I don't think we'll end up far off of that number for this one. We ended up with about 80 seats left before kick off.

72 and 66 seats left in the end two blocks of SSL and 47 in Block 2 (next but one to the fence in SSL) and other than that many blocks sold out and only a handful of single seats left in the remaining blocks. ES totally Sold Out.

Will have to continue God's work at midnight.

At midnight we had just 205 seats remaining. It means we had good net sales yesterday of 183, with the extra seats added back in by the club it gives us sales of about 220 overall. It's noticeable that sales in the lead up to the game have been much higher, which I put down to a combination of no exchange seats being available, a bit of targeted marketing from the club (at last!!!), and slightly better availability.

I expect to be closer to 11,300 than 11,200 (assuming Sheff Utd have sold out, which hasn't been confirmed), so hardly worth all of the hand wringing that we've seen. Hopefully a few lessons learned by the club regarding how to sell tickets for future games.

NO MORE THAN A GUESS!!!!! I’ve spent the last six days calculating this result!

Oxford United 3 - Sheffield United 1.

I see no reason to change any of last week’s starting lineup (injuries permitting). If we can’t be positive after last week’s performance, when can we be?

How many teams that were in the previous season’s Play-Off final have started the new season with 6 losses?
We’re now on a mini-run of 3 games unbeaten and playing some great football. You just know this isn’t going to be an easy game and CW will do everything to put a spanner in the works so it’s a very hard game to call.
Sod’s Law says 0-1
Head says 2-2
Heart says 2-0

It’s a bit like the stadium scenario, we take one great step forward (planning application being approved - beating Bristol City away), then another backwards (the bloody SoS approval - Sheffield Utd at home?), but hoping you’re right Scotchers!!

It’s always been like this being an Oxford fan! e.g. feels like we’re swimming the Atlantic, but it’s made of treacle!!

Ticket sales need their own thread per game.

Morning all from a sunny Tenerife. Hoping for a big 3 pts today. Incredibly long shot but don't suppose anyone knows of any bars in Playa De Las Americas or Los Cristianos that might be showing the game?
