Those loaned out players who are out of contract? For next season, I want our loans out to be for the right reasons, that is seeing players we want to make use of in the future develop at a club further down the leagues.
This season we have loaned out the following and their respective ages in brackets: Goodwin (23), Findlay (30), Thorniley (29), Kioso (26), Dale (27), Negru (23), Sibley (24) and Bradshaw (33)*. Eight players loaned out who are way past needing 'development'.
I know we needed to offer incentives to get into and then stay in the Championship but - my word - have we ended up with a bloated squad with a lot of players unwanted and unusable.
Bloomers said a clear our wasn't coming but he may be in for a surprise when some of those still contracted to us above come back.
*The likes of Ferdinan, Golding, Elliott-Wheeler etc I'm not counting since these were loans for development purposes.
Exactly. Pretty much everything is limited, I certainly am in many respects.I’m not sure I buy this ‘limited amount of change’ line..
I could easily see 15+ leaving (inc departing loan players), along with 8 signings (inc loans signings)..
Guess it depends how you define ‘limited’..
I imagine Thohir will have the most influence on Romeny's future. I gave up thinking he's a conventional squad member a long time ago.I can’t see anyone buying Romeny, but I can see him going on loan somewhere for the season which we will probably end up paying far too much of his wages for the privilege
He's the new captainI imagine Thohir will have the most influence on Romeny's future. I gave up thinking he's a conventional squad member a long time ago.
Yeah but what about Romeny? He's the new captain

He had the chance and didn't want to go if I remember correctly.I can see Romeny being sold to an Indonesian club for a LOT of money.
Would love you to show one instance where anyone has tried to make that pointDon't forget Romeny acts as a really useful lightning rod for the recruitment team whenever their decisions are questioned - even in relation to other signings that were entirely of their own making.
If they're not responsible for every bad signing then they can't be responsible for any bad signing.
yes, I am no more confident in him L1 than I was in the Champ. Some of our players that struggled I think are absolutely good enough for a top 5 L1 side but Romeny has given me very little evidence he has any meaningful footballing abilityI wonder if we'll get rid of Romeny to a Dutch or Belgian side? Can't see him playing a part as he's made no impact at all.
And that’s being very generous…….Shouldn't we be considering trying to reintegrate Dembele ? I mean for two years he's looked a L1 player .....

Exclusive: Newcastle United agree deal for Oxford United man
Premier League side Newcastle United have prised away a key figure from Oxford United, Football League World understandsfootballleagueworld.co.uk
Hopefully convince them to take Romeny and Dembele for 30m….
Strange one
Well, hopefully Bloomfield will follow Mitchell out of the door!I hope this Newcastle thing isn't happening. I had high hopes on the Bloomfield/Mitchell relationship.
That’s either very positive (not losing players) or very concerning
I hope not ,time to move onI think I gave up on the idea of Romeny cracking it in the Championship a while ago, but I think he still has a part to play for us in League One

BDK and possibly Helik, but Mills predates Mitchell by several months

He's got another year on his deal at least, might as well make use of him in a division lower rather than paying him off or loaning him out at our expensive. Doesn't make sense from a finanicial perspective to let him go, and footballing wise I think he has something to offer at League One level, even if it's just as part of the squadI hope not ,time to move on
We brought in players aimed at keeping us in the Championship. We knew we wouldn’t have a lot of the ball last season. Avoiding relegation and winning promotion are two different things, with different players required for each.I think our number priority for this summer window is creating an identity on how we want to play. That starts with a CB, in our two years in the championship we never had a centre back who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can bring the ball forward, in league one we’ll see a whole lot more of the ball and this is something that needs addressing.
It’s definitely a case of signing quality over quantity this summer.
He’s a really skilful player but seems to have no sense and isn’t amenable to coaching. He’s also reputed to have a bad attitude - I never know what that means, I have a bad attitude at work, don’t most people?11 goals and 10 assists the last time he played a season at this level - it would be extremely churlish not to consider the possibility.
And I think there's a wider point about being very careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater, here.
We could find ourselves paying off the likes of Dembele, signing inferior players just 'because' (player turnover always feels good) - but end up both weaker on the pitch and with more long-term contracts for players who won't cut it at League One let alone higher.
I would of course want certain reassurances about attitude/mentality, but where we have players of proven quality at this level we need to be very careful - that extends to plenty of others.
As a wider point (I expect pelters) much like with Shemmy, I think we're talking about a player who has been unfairly maligned at times.
Aside from his important matchwinning goals last season, it's easy to forget Siriki has only been given 4 starts this season (and only 1 at home - Derby, we won). He also won us the red card at Wrexham in his final start before inexplicably being subbed off just as the game was turning in our favour I recall.
I'm not suggesting he's the answer, but he's certainly worth asking the question of.
Helik hardly a big find. Been a good championship centre back for a number of years.
BDK has played what 20 games at Championship level. Interesting the way talk about him like he’s the second coming of Stevie g
