Plus, most players' contracts start on 1st July, so there's not much real activity that can be done before thenEach national football association decides on the dates of the 'window' but it may not exceed 12 weeks.
Plenty of negotiations (club and player) can happen from whenever people want to start them, it's just paperwork on loans/permanent transfers can't formally be submitted until the window is open.
I certainly wouldn’t be rushing Kioso out the door - not sure how he got on this season but I think he’s very useful at this level. He’s a character, competitive and played a lot of games at a good level. To look at it another way, if Spencer were sold and we bought Kioso in his place, a proven L1 player in a similar mould, I think we’d be pretty satisfied. This summer is the chance to be ruthless. Despite dropping down a division, I still believe that we're carrying too many players that aren't quite at the levels we need. We're shouldering a very high wage bill, so I would be doing all I could to reduce that.
For me, the following can leave:
--------------------------------------------------
Helik
Leigh
Vaulks
Sibley
Ter Avest
Kioso
Dale
Goodwin
Bradshaw
Harris
Negru
O'Donkor
Dembele
Romeny
Ferdinan
Of course, expecting that many players to be loaned out or sold in a summer window just isn't realistic. However, it just goes to show you how many bang average players we've been spunking a small fortune on, for far too long!
Massive summer ahead and with Scott Mitchell on his way out, if the recruitment now sits with Ed Waldron, he simply has to get this right! No pressure...
I'm friends with a few Peterborough fans and they have all said the same - Terrible. Shadow of the player that was there on loan, the first time around. I would much rather Sam Long as backup to Spencer. Sam Long has shown time and time again that he is not only capable at Championship level, but a standout performer in League One (supporters player of the year and players player of the year in 2021)Not sure how he got on this season
I think you’re overestimating the strength of League One overall if you think players like HTA, Helik, Leigh, Vaulks, Romeny and Harris aren’t at the level we need. This summer is the chance to be ruthless. Oxford fan with first League One #teamslike post of 2026Yes we shouldn’t be complacent and underestimate the division, but we’re going from cup-final effort every week to playing the likes of Burton, Cambridge and AFC Wimbledon.
HTA will be leaving.I think you’re overestimating the strength of League One overall if you think players like HTA, Helik, Leigh, Vaulks, Romeny and Harris aren’t at the level we need.
Yes we shouldn’t be complacent and underestimate the division, but we’re going from cup-final effort every week to playing the likes of Burton, Cambridge and AFC Wimbledon.
Also need a squad of players to play in 46 league games, earlier rounds of cup games and the EFL Trophy; so we can’t operate with a skeleton crew either.
Personally, I think having someone in the squad that is under contract, has scored 15 (non penalty) goals with 4 assists in League One previously is worth having around.HTA will be leaving.
I would be very surprised if Leigh was still here come the end of the window. I would imagine that bridge was burned when, for whatever reason, we decided not to register him for the second half of the season.
Not against Vaulks staying for the sake of experience and squad depth, but we can do much better.
Romeny has shown me absolutely nothing to suggest he is a professional footballer, let alone good enough for us in League One.
It's time for Harris to move on, but knowing what a soft touch we are, he'll be going nowhere.
Hard to disagree with that. We certainly need another striker in. Ideally, we'd have 4, but that's just me being greedy.Personally, I think having someone in the squad that is under contract, has scored 15 (non penalty) goals with 4 assists in League One previously is worth having around.
Bradshaw's name has come up a few times. I thought he moved on permanently in Jan?We need to move on players like Findlay, O’Donkor, Johnson, Golding, Negru, Dale, Kioso, Goodwin, and Bradshaw, they’ve had enough time and opportunities to show if they’re good enough, and clearly haven’t stepped up, so move them on, and free up some squad places, ready to move some of our current substitutes to squad players, and first teamers to the bench, ready for some improved first team players.
No room for sentiment, just be ruthless and get it done.
Negru is an interesting one for me. Showed great promise when he broke into the side, but now is pretty much the forgotten man. Any room for him in next year's squad given the way he started for us?
World Cup year, no chance we'll get our business done early.

Findlay - out of contract and already agreed a deal with HeartsWe need to move on players like Findlay, O’Donkor, Johnson, Golding, Negru, Dale, Kioso, Goodwin, and Bradshaw, they’ve had enough time and opportunities to show if they’re good enough, and clearly haven’t stepped up, so move them on, and free up some squad places, ready to move some of our current substitutes to squad players, and first teamers to the bench, ready for some improved first team players.

And the year’s got a 2 at the beginning of itWorld Cup year, no chance we'll get our business done early.
Well, it hasn’t stopped BloomfieldI think this thread encapsulates the reasons why fans should not be football managers
Where is HTA going?HTA will be leaving.
It's time for Harris to move on, but knowing what a soft touch we are, he'll be going nowhere.
We are in league 1 now not the premier leagueWorld Cup year, no chance we'll get our business done early.
Well thats not going to win this league ,best 6 or 7th postion.I expect us to sell BDK and Currie to help balance the books this Summer. However, if we keep everyone else you would imagine Bloomfields comments may be true as we already have the majority of a squad.
GK - Cummings, Ingram
RB - Long, Spencer
LB - Rooksen, Leigh
CB - Brown, Helik, New CB, Negru?
CDM - McDonnel, Vaulks
CM - Brannagan, New CM
10/CAM - Jin Woo, Goodhram
LW - Emkahu, Dembele
RW - Mills, New RW
ST - Harris, Prelec, New ST
Personally I would move a few of those players on. But there is a possibility that's the majority of our squad starting next season.
So if you could lock in a guaranteed 10th place finish right now, you'd do it?? Would you bother going to watch any of the games!?I doubt we'll be going up again anyway. Internally I would love to know what the clubs target is. Personally I would take a top 10 finish now.
Really,if youre thinking like that we will be below that.I doubt we'll be going up again anyway. Internally I would love to know what the clubs target is. Personally I would take a top 10 finish now.

I would take it. I don't think we'll be challenging for autos. I think at best we might get play offs.
Yes I would still attend games. For the past 10 years I've been attending for the social aspect not the football itself.
Agree. Quite bizarreYou could well be right. But I'm not taking tenth before we've even sorted out our squad for the season.
I'm not taking playoffs, we're gonna be second! You could well be right. But I'm not taking tenth before we've even sorted out our squad for the season.
