Transfer Window 26/27 Summer Embargo Window

I really do hope that this transfer period don’t turn into a debacle for us ! Thank goodness it’s early doors but the interest in Chaplin is interesting. At 29 perhaps getting a little over the hill but he will obviously want a long contract before hanging up his Boots playing professional football although a free agent.
Compared to last summers efforts, I would actually take a debacle!

Triumph Spitfire. Had air conditioning in the floor.
My mate had a particularly successful bet on an FA Cup final, which allowed him to buy himself one of those. We decided to spend a week going on a roadtrip from Leicester to Scotland, only he was too scared to drive it in the motor way because of being in all those lorries' blind spots, so we stuck to B roads. Took us so long that we didn't get further than Hull before turning back.

Beauty of a car though.

I'm still hoping they change their minds and allow us to have one of those Sky Bet Championship sleeve patches.
I'm hoping the club put an end to all of this sleeve nonsense emphatically and announce the new shirt in the style of the Cameroon top...

Seen a random mention of Frankie Kent on a free. Don't know if made it onto here yet.

Can we assume Lisbie's camp is in a position to be playing clubs off against each other - or that he doesn't want to sign?

The comments suggesting this on BBC Peterborough were clearly disingenuous.

They and Reading were supposed to have pulled out because we (and an unnamed club) made stronger bids for him. But there's no evidence that those bids were accepted, and today's story indicates they probably haven't been.

We are reported to have held talks with the player last month. For all we know terms have been agreed in principle.

Sounds more like Colchester are the ones doing the haggling doesn't it?

We don't want this man. Agent-driven w****r.

So, I’m taking it that you’ve been close to the negotiations and had some dealings with the agent then? Personally, I don’t know how reliable these various posters are, so I thought I’d wait to see how things play out. Controversial stuff I know.

Breaking news; footballer try’s to get the best deal for him and his family.
Is there something obvious I'm missing here? I'd like to understand.

Colchester simply set their price in stone and now Lisbie and his big-time agent are leading every club in League One on a merry little dance?

There's no chance his club is holding out for the highest bidder?

Bizarre outburst.
It baffles me when we have players who signed for us because we paid them more than another team would.
Brannagan stayed partly due to us giving him a decent pay rise when Blackpool came in for him. If we hadn’t then he would have signed for them.

He will want the best deal possible. The agent’s job is to get him that. He will go to another club and say they are offering him X amount, can you beat it or match it.

Fair enough, but even if he's held talks with interested clubs (and agreed/declined a move) there's no sign that Colchester have accepted an offer yet.

He could be desperate to join us.

Hopefully he's not sneaking a peek at our fans' forum to find out if there's any buzz.

If a player wants to play for us all well and good , if he don’t then go away . You say players go for high wages but they seem to forget that down the line they could be worth millions so management should have a lot to do with a players choice of club !
