I wouldn't take Sykes back. Those that would, probably didn't attend that Wycombe away game. Not dis-similar to the 'Dean Windass' game at QPR. No thanks.

Sykes, Cornick and Morsy all released from Bristol. Id take all 3 if available. Especially Sykes if Mills moves on.

Sykes was out of contract, so free to leave. And pretty clear he was off some time ago. As is Sam Bell, although he has been offered another contract.

It would be interesting to know what sort of equity (not loans) Erick Thohir would actually need to issue to, for example, cover the existing wage bill.

I was calculating something under £4m, but accept that could be way off.

From a business perspective (and thinking about the club's valuation), you'd imagine there's a strong incentive to invest at this stage, but who knows?

Maybe it is odd and entitled to think that.

When you see some of the players we've been linked with (and supposedly bid for), it's hard to imagine how we could possibly be in the market for them without Thohir 'gifting' significant funds (even if we did have three or four major departures all but announced).
I think our wage bill was £12 million the first season in the championship and more for the last so yept way off

I think I’d steer clear of Sykes too. Good player no doubt but it feels like getting a player who’s more on the way down than he is on the up. The club needs a bit of a reset and fresh energy and I don’t think bringing back Sykes is the answer.
But he's not on the way down should get another championship club.

The rumours seem to have dried up in the last week or two. Hopefully it’s just coincidence that it’s gone quiet since we lost our head of recruitment 😁

Fingers crossed that things liven up after the window opens on Monday.

I think Slattery is done after seeing people say he was at the Oxford Mail football presentations

If Slattery is incoming Who thinks BDK will be out going ? and if Lisbie is incoming Stan will be off ?

I wish i could say the same thing

My understanding through someone who knows BDK's dad, is that he is much more settled in the UK having taken time out for his recovery and is looking forward to proving himself for us. He remains ambitious and if he had a brilliant start to the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see interest in him in January which might be more tempting for him. But I think for now there is unfinished business for him here.

As we know, Danny Mills watches a lot of games with Stan and I had spoken with him around the time of Stan's injury to wish Stan well in his recovery. Had a couple of conversations with him since, including at the end of the season when he said that Stan was very happy at Oxford and it would take "too good to turn down" to tempt him away. That doesn't mean that those offers don't come in or he changes his mind, but my gut says that he'll stay.

What's your view on whether the club will look to or manage to offload Kioso, Sibley and Leigh?
Presumably some players will need to move on

So what you’ve just told me here is we are gonna p**s the league with 100 goals and 100 points

I'm sure that we'll move them on, and would imagine that there will be good interest in all three. The issue may be how much of their wages we're willing to cover, but I can't see any wanting to sit out the season by refusing a move.

Of those who are likely to be sold, I would imagine that Spencer and Currie will attract offers and Helik may consider his options. And anything could happen with Dembele, Romeny and Ferdinan!

But I don't see a fire sale or mass departures that some have predicted.
