Surely with this system if you can do what you want.
Pay in a million 500 for squad 500 for bank account.
Repay 500k debt to yourself
Then pay in 500k
250 each again
Then repeat repeat.
That I think 1 mill is about 900k on squad not against the rules as on here state it
Not in spirit of rules but not against them

The odd thing about the transfer embargo is that without it we probably would have sold more players than we have and chances are, with considerably less drama involved. I feel sorry for those players who might have left (Curry, Spencer, Brown, Cummings, even Brannagan) if we could have replaced them, but who for one reason or another didn't sulk (Mills) or go on strike (BDK) so didn't force a move.

Football often seems to reward bad behavior unfortunately, but you hope in the long run it pays off for the better characters. Clubs also behave badly when wanting to get rid of players so we shouldn't pretend this is a one way street.

The transfer embargo rules seems mad to me, to have such a disparity in regulations between the Championship and League One means this type of (presumably unintended) outcome is inevitable.
I agree. I was convinced Cumming would be leaving over the summer (think there was a rumour linking him to MKD) but it would’ve been crazy for the club to permit him to leave.

My worry is that he, Brown, Spencer & Currie will bide their time until January - embargo lifted and - whoosh - they’ve gone, because the club probably asked key players to give them until January and we’d either renegotiate their contracts, or allow them to leave if they prefer.

Just hypothetically, imagine if Larry Ellison was negotiating to buy the club (or anybody else for that matter).

ET isn’t going to part ways with another big chunk of cash that would, in theory, disappear down a black hole for him at point of sale.

They would have up there game if they want to leave they look more league one than championship right now

They up there game team performs better better results leaving us challenging they then have to a decision

You might get a loan back though.

Its not income its turnover

And here is a bloody good example of why the stadium is needed

Currently our turnover is £10m

The kassam stadium conference centre has a turnover of £3m

Our turnover at £10m gives us a scmp of £ 6.5m

Add the conference turnover to our own turnover so that now £13m
Scmp would be £8.45m

Nearly £2m extra

That is why the new stadium is absolutely critical
So let’s say our turnover was 20m including tickets, sponsorship, conferencing, catering, merchandise, football related revenues connected with the hotel…..ahhhh, now I really get it.

As far as I’m aware, there is no indication the owner is going to put any material amounts of additional equity in?

With our transfer business this summer, is it possible we are trying to get under the 65% limit purely by reducing wages and generating income? Then new revenue from stadium would boost income and let us spend a bit more.

Even if we have a stadium to spend money on, Thohir putting financing in as debt won’t help us with SCMP.

Not a bad thing to live within our means but a painful adjustment.
I’ve already predicted with a decent level of confidence that Erick won’t put any more equity in beyond keeping things ticking over.

It’s about either packaging up for a sale, or getting spending to a more basic level whilst pocketing what we can without completely tanking the club. Bare minimum stuff.

I think that you mean 'without pocketing what he can without completely tanking the club.'
Interesting choice of phrase when you consider how much Erick Thorhir has subsidised the club's operations to date, and every month, and will have to do in the future. Somehow you suggest that he is making money out of this.

It's the old story - 'How do you make a small fortune from an English Football League club?'

' Start with a large one!'

Apparently reducing an unsustainable Championship wage bill and getting the club onto a sensible League One footing means Erick is “packaging up for a sale” and “pocketing what we can”.

What exactly is he pocketing? Where is the evidence of money being extracted from the club?

Without him we would not exist ,we need the judgement sorted so the ground can hopefully go ahead .If it doesn't we should all fear for our club ,so fingers crossed. And only time will tell where we will be come January on and off the pitch. We need players back. I think Leigh will make the team stronger, Roosken Looked solid and lets hope WO can stay fit we need all the players playing there part. And Cam just hasn't looked fit ,Tyler come on son lets get back some form ,we need our core players showing up .Its going to be a long 4 months .

Pocketing what we can. I.e the club in transfer fees etc. I doubt it is physically reaching Erick’s pocket

transfer income actually helps the SCMP calculation, while getting expensive wages off the books helps the other side of it. So the very behaviour you’re presenting as evidence of some sinister exit strategy is exactly what you would expect from a club trying to become compliant and sustainable.
We’ve gone from “Erick is pocketing what he can” to “well, obviously Erick isn’t actually getting the money”.
Brilliant.

But you you knew that didn't you kip as your idea of getting out of the embargo is to chuck more money in leaving us in exactly the same position this time next year

I didn’t at any point say Erick is pocketing it. I said the club is boosting its balance sheet.

You didn’t mention “boosting the balance sheet” at all. You said “pocketing what we can” while suggesting the club was being packaged up for sale.
Now that’s been challenged, it’s suddenly become “the club is boosting its balance sheet”.
That is a completely different argument.
And even if we accept the new version, reducing wages, generating transfer income and improving the club’s financial position after relegation is still not evidence of an impending sale. It is exactly what you would expect a club under SCMP pressure to do.
You can keep changing the wording, but the missing bit remains the same: where is the actual evidence that Erick is preparing to sell?
