Well if he continually shattered his shoulder bone playing to appease some of our fanbase he absolutely could lose use of his arm if he damages it to that degree.

I don't know how badly damaged bloody BDK's shoulder was. But players get injured all the time, the medical staff take the first look, and if they have to go to the hospital, that's where they go. Fans don't get up in arms expecting them to play, for god's sake.

But that clearly was not the case with BDK. As far as I can tell from Bloomfield's reaction at the time (surprise that BDK had opted for the operation in January) this wasn't an injury that the medical staff viewed as in need of immediate attention or even that playing on would cause the player to "lose his arm" (what tripe!). It's not in the club's interest to have a player continue to play when doing so would make any problems worse.

Anyway, now that he's gone, can we just all say "good riddance" and be done with him.

Presumably he’s passed a medical. So I’ve no idea why there’s any ongoing chat around these phantom injuries he’s been managing keeping him out of contention.

I expected he would have a slow summer after being out but Bristol City aren’t going to commit to a guy that hasn’t played for 8 months unless he sails through his medical. I already count 4 bona fide centre mids on their books.

I'm slightly concerned the standard of orthopaedic chat has taken a downturn, so wanted to add for balance that I've broken limbs, suffered complex joint injuries and played sport once recovered, and none of those limbs have dropped off, yet.

I think when someone references losing the use of limbs to contextualise the behaviour of BDK, those sympathetic to him have probably jumped the shark.

That also has little relevance to the hyperbole of referencing losing the function of a limb to contextualise unethical behaviour by a professional footballer.

What it has in common is a lack of dignity and civility.

I would agree that we most probably would have sold a couple more had it not been for the embargo. The difference is though that the club would have retained a strong negotiating stance and the ability to reinvest any incoming transfer funds into the next bright prospects*.

As it is, we’ve probably sold the two most rotten eggs in the squad and retained 3 or 4 others that, hand on heart, probably do not want to be here - despite the platitudes and assurances to the media.

All this while Leicester, who apparently don’t have a pot to p**s in, have just signed Riis from Bristol City . f**k the EFL!

Joe Taylor showed last night what good transfer business looks like. Picked up by Huddersfield (in Lg1) in January 2025 for £3,000,000. He will either turn them a very healthy profit in January or next summer, and could simultaneously get them very close to promotion. In that same window that he signed for HTFC, we (in Champ) signed Romeny for £2,000,000 and Tom Bradshaw.

*Waldron and his team doing the recruiting will mean the chances of the business being successful is roughly 25/75 at best, based on previous performance by them.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your sentiment but a profit on Joe Taylor at £3m is struggle with. He is at his level
