How can he have agreed terms if we haven't accepted an offer for him? They can't speak to him until we do, can they?
That’s correct. PNE can’t approach or even send Stan a text without OUFC granting permission. And they won’t do that unless PNE are getting close to the asking price.

PNE would be in breach of ‘tapping up a contracted player’ rules.

Of course there’s nothing to stop Stan’s agent speaking to the PNE manager’s agent and saying “Stan wants £X and a guaranteed 30 games when not injured “.

Happens all the time in football.

Agents talk to clubs behind clubs back, I dare say we’ve done it for players we’ve wanted

Incorrect - From the 2026–27 season onward, the Championship uses Squad Cost Rules (SCR), capping spending on player and manager costs at 85% of football income, backed by a flexible owner equity top-up allowance of £33 million over a rolling three-year period (max £15 million per season). This replaces the old Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) limits of £39 million in losses over three years. Your £105m is completely wrong.
Spot on, except we’re not in the 26-27 season yet. That doesn’t start until 8th Aug. We’re currently still in the 25-26 season.

Semantics but this is one of the ways Leicester got caught and charged, by misjudging when a season started.

"Seasons" run from 1st July to 30th June, hence why player contracts mirror these dates and the EFL needed assurances of our funding before 1st July.

I was responding to Mark G’s post where he stated the rolling total of last year’s rules to be £105m over a 3 year period which was incorrect.

This guy has been very vocal as ITK on the Mills rumours. Was saying earlier it was a done deal, etc and an announcement would be imminent. And now it's a case of Mills would have to force a move. Funny how it's gone from him having completed a medical yesterday, to not having agreed a fee with us yet. Time will tell, but it seems to be unravelling a bit

Who the f**k would ever "want PNE" ??

"I'm entitled to my opinion" is, imo, one of the worst debating tactics. It discredits any opposition by relegating arguments to the realm of personal belief, rather than logical discussion or factual debate. It also closes the door on other's views by claiming that an opinion is somehow unarguable and so closes off any debate. So no, I won't agree to disagree. If someone can't back up their opinion with facts then I reserve the right to consider it invalid.

It's always what people with awful opinions say to try and cling on to any form of credibility.

Why would of Ramsey played Stan against Ipswich Town, if he was going.???
To up his value seeing as he scored??
Because it's a load of nonsense??
Something that's taken place since Ipswich??
Who knows what's going on anymore ,with OUFC from top to bottom.🤷🏻‍♂️
So so frustrating.......

Someone who wants to be at an established Championship club with a completed stadium, rather than League One club under an embargo with a fence...
And a signing on fee that pays youre mortgage off plus more money and play for a team that won't go down. With a possible move to a bigger championship team. I hope he doesn't go but you couldn't blame him

Jason Burt interview with Ramsay in today's Telegraph.
One quote from the interview:
At Oxford he has been thrown in at the deep end with the news that the club is under a transfer embargo, having failed to comply with the English Football League’s financial rules which has led to concern from fans. “It’s definitely been an introduction to management life but I have been pretty calm about the whole situation,” Ramsey says.

“One of the main reasons I took this job was the players that are already here and the qualities I saw in them, and the things I thought I could do to improve this team.”

He says he was also “quite firm” that being prevented from signing players meant Oxford would also not sell this summer, especially assets such as winger Stanley Mills. “Letting them go would make no sense,” Ramsey says.

Didn't realise he'd scored the winner in 2 FA Cup finals. Not bad!

Agree it makes no sense to sell players, but if a player wants to leave, then what

It is just possible that what's going on is nothing. The Chairman and Manager have confirmed that the intent is to keep players. There may, or may not, have been some inquiries/offers. It could be that nothing has been accepted, no moves are happening.
The internet noise is then just noise.
Therefore the Club would have nothing to say, hence the silence. Sometimes no news is good news.
We might know a bit more when we see the Orient team sheet.
I wouldn't expect the Club to respond to every rumour, that's our job.

Agree it makes no sense to sell players, but if a player wants to leave, then what
Then they have to understand that they have a contract and the club are in a unique position where they can’t be replaced. So they have a choice. Get their head down until January or sulk.

If Mills is one of the standout players in League One until January then he’ll be way beyond Preston’s reach and will get a much more lucrative deal.

It’s not ideal for anyone and I find it hard to see why Mills won’t leave in January if Bogdanovic is true to his word and this is sorted by then, but in this instance I don’t see why player power would force our hand in this window.

Apologies if I’m being thick and this has already been answered a number of times but can we just clear something up?

If Stan leaves, is it the case that we can bring in a player under the following rules:

1) A free transfer and we can pay his wages
2) A loan for 12 months with no wage contributions

Be even more funny if Stan stays and people take a moment to reflect on some of their posting over the last 48 hours!
The Five Stages of Transfer Grief:

1. Denial: "He'll never go, he's always seemed happy here and another 4/12 months with us will be the making of him."

2. Disbelief: "I can understand why he might want to go, but why the f*ck would he go there, of all places?!"

3. Disassociation: "Bollox to him, he was rubbish anyway. Remember that chance he missed at X and that misplaced pass at Y?"

4. Acceptance: "He was always going to go, I just hope we get top dollar and a 90% sell on clause."

5. Incandescence: "I can't believe we sold him so cheap, Peterborough would've got 8 times that, and I bet he scores against us every time we play them. Sack everyone!"
