Preston just announced the departure of Whitman……so if this theory holds true then should know soon, though to me it makes no sense that they were waiting to announce one to announce another.

Not at all, you are spot on.

We are stuffed until we get the new ground. The embargo hasn’t made that more acute it’s just highlighted it.

We need the judges back from holiday and this whole slow process sped up.

There’s enough rumour, panic and guesswork around without adding to it, so I just try to stick to what we actually know. The club are still working, the process is still moving, and silence does not automatically mean bad news. We’ll get there.

I agree.

But Mills will be a marked man next season, no doubt about that. Defensive midfielders will be looking to stamp their mark on him, as normally happens with top, game-changing players.

Mills might be thinking “If I get a broken leg in the first game thanks to a no-nonsense L1 defender, that’s my hopes of a top flight career over”. FWIW I think his style is better suited to the Championship and he won’t always get to shine on a cold Tuesday winters night in Bromley.

£3M for Us (with whatever sell-on Everton might be due in top if that), and I’d take that as a very fair deal for all concerned.

Is there any evidence for the idea that there are more fouls in league one, or worse ones? I think Stan would do well away at Bromley, he’s much more wholehearted than the likes of Shemmy and Jin-Woo

I phoned my mate Stan last night to wish him a happy holiday. His wife answered the phone and I waffled on a bit so she couldn’t get a word in, saying how lucky they were to be getting away, how I wished I could afford a 5-star all inclusive holiday and asking which airport they were flying from.

“Stansted” she replied.

“Oh blimey” I cried “So sorry, he seemed fine on the golf course last week”.

I think my style is best suited to the Premier League, but unfortunately I haven't found a manager brave enough to take the chance.

Yes there is.

There were 5676 fouls in the Championship last season, Derby committed the most and Wrexham the least. Preston won the fewest free-kicks from fouls of any side (presumably why they want a tricky winger like Mills - to gain more free-kicks).

Meanwhile there were 6158 fouls in League 1 last season, a massive 9% more than in the Championship.

IF... Mills is signing for PNE, I wonder if OUFC asked them to delay the announcement. Maybe they are trying to get the EFL to lift or relax the embargo so they can spin this into a good news story.
Ideally, I want this to be complete b*****s, but I doubt we will be able to relax until the window is well and truly shut.
 
throughout this embargo I've maintained an attitude of "let's keep most of our players and we'll do alright without any additions till Jan".

Now that everyone seems to be making their signings I've definitely got FOMO :(
