I want to. Especially when it's being relayed directly by the Chairman in consultation with fan groups, especially when this is backed up by the Manager and players. This doesn't feel like a Reading or Shef Wed situation where the owner's gone completely rogue and is clearly spouting BS to buy time or escape the heat. There seems to be some sort of joined up effort to communicate the situation to the fans, which will make it all the more catastrophic if it turns out to be utter b*****s.
Let’s hope that the money comes through between now and January because if it doesn’t we will find ourselves in serious trouble.

Not bashing ET at all but sadly to get our house in order a few may need to go.

This is such a gloomy thread.

I for one shall remain positive until there are announcements.

First game on Saturday. COYY!! 💛 🩵
At least we haven't got to worry about facing Ballard too haha

It's been said a million times but it's worth repeating since we're the closest we've ever been to serious change right now, until we own a ground of our own we can only ever be competitive by unsustainably overspending. In a pyramid full of unhealthy and dysfunctional clubs we're almost uniquely unhealthy and dysfunctional.

The last time I can recall us actually cutting our cloth was under Ian Lennegan when we really were making 'bargain bucket' singings and annually capitulating in L2 playoff races.

It looks like we're going to have to suffer a bit on the pitch this year but if we finally get the green light to develop the stadium then I think it would have to go down as a successful season.

(Maybe just consoling myself for what lies ahead!)

Just getting back into this thread but read all the comments overnight and first thing before going out for the day. Instead of reading the last 7-8 pages, can someone just confirm that Mills has been sold to Preston today for £3m or less?

Yes/maybe/not yet/no
Please can you pin these @Admin?

Incredible isn't it.

Some folk on the forum, read some speculation and gossip, get petrified by it and then treat the speculation as fact, while assuming that the fact will become ten times worse.
Don’t confuse a passionate response with people just being gullible. Most posts contain if, not when, albeit prompted by rumour as it often is - it’s rare anything appears with no run-up.

Besides, not everything needs facts and evidence alongside it to be a legitimate point. For example, the discussion as to whether other players or Ramsey might be a bit unsettled by Stan (maybe!) going is just a basic understanding of people and workplaces but apparently our players are robots until proven otherwise.

It was £1.2m, but that rises to £1.6m if Preston are promoted.

BDK is finalising personal terms with Blackburn (having met the release clause of £575k).

Jamie Cumming to MK Dons on a season long loan - we're paying 95% of his wages.

Preston hoping that when Wrexham announces the signing of their captain, they will then announce the Mills signing, surely it would be us letting the media know before anyone else? It's the respectable thing to do, to let us know first. That's why I'm hopeful he's staying.

Alright, Ed.

For the umpteenth time it’s not about some pot of money magically appearing
Where did I say that?

I didn’t. I said we may have to sell a couple to get our house in order with the 50%/65%.

We can’t just sell nobody and expect the situation to be different in January as it won’t be and we can’t carry on spending to the level we are as it’s not sustainable.

Wasn’t there something about us being put on a budget plan by the EFL? That might require us to make a couple of high profile sales

Not 100% sure but the current situation must be rectified by January was my understanding.

We can’t stay under the embargo for the whole season that’s for sure and if ET doesn’t want to prove funding we might have to sell one asset & then wait for the offset from the stadium build and that may be enough.

And yet somehow won player of the season.
it was quite a low bar with no real stand out candidates.

At Watford (a) I honestly thought Stan had won a competition to play - he was awful that day. I mean really bad.

He had a good second half to the season kind but he ain’t Yasmine Lamal.

We could sing f**k efl
Why? They’re doing the right thing in trying to encourage financial stability. If our CEO/CFO adopt a s**t or bust business model, that’s not the EFL’s fault.

So we’re now saying Mills to Preston is on again?

I get f*****g giddy following this thread

Edit: Sorry I misunderstood. You mean the Preston forum?

100% this - the rhetoric is now reasonably positive which breeds hope but will be quite devastating if Dusan’s ‘actions’ on which he says we are to judge him are contrary to this.

Can we forget all what’s going on within the confines of the club and talk about Saturdays match . Very exciting the season begins!!

Its true. Had the bare minimum of usual Transfer window fun. Literally a week or so. Thank god the season is back.

In one way yes you are correct but at the same time you have the efl asking you to put all your money for the season in one big lump sum and at the same time you must put in double that amount even Kieran Maguire said he didn't think the rule had been stress tested enough

Its like your mortgage company turning round to you and saying we want all this years monthly payments in one go on January 1st oh actually only 50% of that lump sum is going on your mortgage so you need to double it

That's not how it works (or at least, that's not how it's supposed to work). The media teams of both the selling and buying club will agree a time for a joint announcement (shared with the local press/radio) with an embargo on the announcement before that time. That way everyone is informed at the same time (give or take however long it takes for it to filter through).

EDIT: It has been known for some parties to break the embargo, either accidentally or on purpose. This is obviously a big faux pas and has led to clubs making the announcement a few minutes ahead of the notified time, which is also a bit naughty unless done in conjunction with the other club.
