Yes and more season tickets being sold on the manager wanting to keep the team together so it was said! Not a chance in hell of keeping the team together after a relegation it is as plain as day , believe what you want to me it’s a pull the wool over the Eyes job open yours and the facts speak for themselves!
They did well then

I think that is the nature of football forums; the PNE forum is the same. There are one or two posters saying it is still a done deal, and the rest crying that they've made a crap signing instead.
Just a little surprising that people can't wait a day or 2 before venting.
There are a couple of posters on here who seem to be pretty close to happening, but pages of concerns including Ramsey will be off based on people on a PNE forum?

I

Ballard hasn’t done anything in the Championship - yet. Mills has. As we, as a club, know the leap from L1 to Championship is massive. A very good season, as an attacker, for a relegated club who weren’t exactly attack minded has to be worth something over being totally unproven at the level.
And that is fine to say that, but strikers are a premium and he’s young & Leyton Orient have a strong financial base.

We don’t. There’s differentials on both sides but I do get what you are saying.

So far, Nixon has been the reporter posting the most info on Mills news. He posted that Preston was interested in him, and he's been replying to fans who've asked how much we have valued Mills at. I've checked his page, and plenty of fans are asking for any update on Mills, and there's radio silence. You'd think if he knew something, he'd have posted a story by now. Just seems weird that all of this has come from just Preston fans instead of actual reporters

Says a lot about Bloomfield then does it not ! And yet he was sacked, why ? Something is not right , you have pointed out the dates correctly but in doing so you have opened up another questionable decision made by the owner/ board with, as you point out , a record breaking season ticket sales and that’s after relegation.

Maybe he has got a job working for the club now?

Strange for his dad to follow Preston when he’s got no affiliation with them at all I’d say.

Probably can’t afford Mills to leave, but then we can’t afford to let this financial situation linger on either and I don’t see how it’s solved without significant outgoings.

Maybe they realised that apart from one half season at Wycombe his overall record at league one was actually pony

Maybe they realised that many of the players clashed with him that didn't happen with previous manager

According to Dusan, it's about timing, not money which is why we can keep hold of the crown jewels.

Apparently there is no financial issue, though. We’re opting in to an embargo we could get out of if the “timing” were different and we’re assured the ability to pay wages is unaffected. So at face value the money is not as important as having the player, for now at least.

This is where my fixation on the price tag comes from (more so than “is he worth that?”) - unless it’s a deal that lifts us out of the embargo then it wouldn’t be worth doing, it would just do us further harm.

Like you, I’d have liked to see us re-jig our finances well before now but if we choose now to do it, we can’t go part way. It’s all - with budget to replace - or nothing. That is unless things change and wages become difficult.

Does anyone know if this source from Preston's forum holds any water?

Your proof other than hearsay?
