The forum would encourage all members to consider joining OxVox during this important moment in our history. See here for more information.
But again know one actually knows the real figure its just pure speculationThere is still the small matter of how good they are in the current moment and what their ceiling might look like and I don’t think Lankshear is a multiple of 6x (plus) on Mills at all.
I accept all those things you mention attract a premium and I’m not suggesting we get a similar fee, but if we part with Mills for £3m while other clubs sell players that haven’t kicked a ball outside L1 for £4-5m then we are, frankly, mugs.

There is an easy way to find out what’s going on with Stan
Was he training with the squad yesterday and more importantly today ?
Here’s a thought, it seems Mills has been linked with PNE since early July. But again know one actually knows the real figure its just pure speculation
Plus factor in the current situation £3m up front is better than a staggered deal for more
... and PNE have signed another forward from Middlesbrough for £2 Million.Contrasting murmourings on the PNE forum now. One side has Mills as 'imminent', and the other as no deal, moved onto alternatives.(less exciting and cheaper, if you believe them)
Why can’t the PNE site be as accurate as ours when it comes to aTransfer threadContrasting murmourings on the PNE forum now. One side has Mills as 'imminent', and the other as no deal, moved onto alternatives.(less exciting and cheaper, if you believe them)

There are tonnes of examples you can use to gauge that the rumoured figure is too low. I’d agree we have often over estimated our players but in this case and particularly the money flying around this summer, I think we’re doing the opposite.£4-5m paid for Ballard (that’s who I presume you mean) is different to Mills entirely.
He’s come from the youth set up at Southampton & scored a hatful of goals at Leyton Orient.
Goalscorers come at a premium, so naturally I think he would always go for more than Mills will, especially because we are where we are in the pyramid and our financial situation.
The club can say they don’t want to lose anyone, but sometimes cold hard cash is too much to turn down.
Funny how it goes from medical done and dusted to potentially moving onto alternatives. Time will tell, as always, but I find it weird that no reporters have leapt at the chance to post the exclusive if there was any footing. You'd imagine that if they knew something, it would've been posted asap for interactionsContrasting murmourings on the PNE forum now. What like
1 being a striker
2 ones had a very serious injury
3 ones represented England
4 being sold from a Premier league club while on a long contract
Yep I can see why one is worth a lot more than the other
Wise words LYI think because people with pretty close links to the club believed that we wouldn't be selling outside those that we had no control over.
Selling Mills in itself would be fine and expected if this was a normal relegation situation. Or even if we'd stayed up, as you say. Selling Mills in a situation where we've been led to believe we want to hold onto our best players where possible (and have no means of replacing them). That's a bit different.
I don't think that's a ridiculous view personally.
I think that is the nature of football forums; the PNE forum is the same. There are one or two posters saying it is still a done deal, and the rest crying that they've made a crap signing instead.Loving all of the "End of the World in Nigh" stuff but could we perhaps wait for Stan Mills to actually leave before we get carried away?
I said yesterday that I'll be amazed if Stan leaves and nothing I've heard since changes that.
Yes we are where humanly possible.Interesting how everyone except credited journalists thinks this deal is done. Pete O'Rourke (or someone else) would be all over this if it was done. Interesting how the player who's heavily linked with a move isn't one with a release clause. Thought we were trying to retain a competitive squad..
Hope they're as good as our other foreign signings!!We've had a couple of triallists in from Gibraltar

Yes and more season tickets being sold on the manager wanting to keep the team together so it was said! Not a chance in hell of keeping the team together after a relegation it is as plain as day , believe what you want to me it’s a pull the wool over the Eyes job open yours and the facts speak for themselves!Of course it is all speculation, but all the optimism built up by Ramsey and co throughout pre season is truly gone should we sell Stan for 3 million. We were all led to believe he would not be going anywhere, and Ramsey was too based on his interviews. I am sure more of us would be understanding if it was a large fee, I'm talking 5 million plus, however, for 3, what is the point?
